Chili's 2 for $20 Review

Chili’s is one of my favorite restaurants, and lucky me, we have one about 5 minutes away from us! I was excited to learn that I was going to be reviewing their new 2 for $20 Shout Out to Eat Out promotion. This is an awesome deal – you can have dinner for two people – it includes an appetizer and one entree for each of you. The selections are soooo good too. Included in the deal, as an entree are the Chili’s Chicken Crispers. They are a family favorite of ours.

Chili’s opened as a fun Dallas burger joint with a loyalty to happy hour and blue jeans. We prided ourselves on our humble beginnings, following a devotion to great food, warm hospitality and community spirit. Today, with restaurants all over the world, we continue to cook up the best in casual fare, offering the same genuine service we did way back when. And, just as in 1975, we’re committed to giving back to the communities that have helped us grow.

My husband had to go into work for a bit the other night, so my daughter and I decided that this would be a perfect time for us to go try out the 2 for $20 menu at Chili’s. My son didn’t want to go with us, but of course wanted us to bring food home for him. My daughter and I were seated immediately and we had fun perusing the menu. The choices for the 2 for $20 meal include:

  • Quesadilla Explosion Salad
  • Classic Bacon Burger
  • Cajun Chicken Pasta
  • Margarita Grilled Chicken
  • Half-Rack Baby Back Ribs W/ homestyle fries
  • Chicken Club Tacos,
  • Chicken Crispers
  • Crispy Chicken Crispers
  • Chicken Fajitas

YUM! Yep – we had a really hard time deciding.

But first we had to choose an appetizer! We chose the Cheese Sticks, and we are really glad we did – they were really good. the other dessert choices are: Crispy Onion & Jalapeno Stack, Tostada Chips & Salsa, Tostada Chips & Fire grilled corn guacamole, Half order Texas Cheese Fries.

My son had requested the Sweet & Smokey Chicken Crispers to bring back to him, and my daughter wanted the Chipotle Chicken Crispers – so those are the two things we chose from the 2 for $20 menu.  I ordered the Beef Fajitas.  I, of course, had to sample her chicken and it was amazing!  It was sweet and slightly spicy and full of flavor.  I kind of wished I had ordered that too, but then when I tried mine I remembered why I chose it. I’ve ordered the fajitas before and they are also so good.  Choices, choices…I think I would be happy with anything from the menu at Chili’s.

My son was anxiously awaiting our arrival home, and he dove into his food right when we walked in the door, and raved about his meal.

The service was incredible.  I honestly thought they knew I was doing a review – the wait staff were so attentive, and checked up on us constantly {without being annoying lol}. They were super friendly and it was just an awesome experience overall.

On a side note – while I was there I checked in on Foursquare. I’m new to Foursquare actually, but it’s pretty fun!  Some places have deals you can take advantage of when you check in, and Chili’s had one.  We got free chips and salsa just by showing them the code on my phone!  The chips are the best chips ever. They are light and crispy and sooooooo good.

With these tough economic times, it is nice to know folks can still go out to dinner fairy inexpensively.  The Chili’s 2 for $20 deal is a great way to treat the family to something special, without spending much money.  And, I can pretty much guarantee you will not leave hungry!

  122. Hiya, and Happy Autumn! 🙂 Well, since you didn’t specify what section to look at. . . I went for the desserts. 😉 When we go out to eat, we don’t usually get dessert, so I don’t always know what they are like, even though I might be quite familiar with the restaurant. So here, would love to go with the Brownie Sundae! 🙂

  159. I really want to try the chicken club tacos! They used to have these amazing chicken tacos, but haven’t had them on the menu for YEARS. I think that adding bacon makes most anything tastier, so I’d like to try those!
