Are you enjoying your Summer? Although it is coming to an end, we have certainly enjoyed ours! We have spent quite a bit of time at our vacation home on the lake and we have done some other fun things. Of course, one not-so-fun thing for me was my neck surgery. But I am on the mend now, and I plan on enjoying the rest of Summer as much as I can!
When I think of Summertime, I always think of an ice cold glass of Coca-Cola. To me, it just means “fun in the sun” – things like concerts, BBQ’s, beaches, Disneyland. I have fond memories of when I was a teen/young adult and my friends and I would head up to this huge park (Tilden Park in Berkeley, CA). We would hang out at the lake there, snacking and drinking Coca-Cola. On our way home we would stop at the merry-go-round and get cotton candy. Ahhhh, the good old days. Of course I still enjoy this beverage these days too – it is always something I look forward to, especially during the hot Summer days,as it is SO refreshing!

My favorite moments this summer were spent celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! Musicians in the garage jamming, family and friends all over! Food on the patio, and of course Coca Cola in the steel tub filled with ice that we always use. Good times!

My best summer moment was finally getting my disablilty case settled. It took a long time but it is finally (almost) done 🙂
I can’t get to a lot of my kids sports/other events due to illness. So this year I was able to make ALL FOUR softball tourneys of my daughter’s. I missed some games, and had to sit sometimes a bit farther from the field, but I saw most of all the 4 weeks of tournaments. That is HUGE for me. I got to see her accept a personal medal at one of the games and that kid was all dimples. umm…and so was I!
There was a large meteor shower the dawn of my birthday on Monday and I saw my first meteor ever! That was my best summer moment.

My #BestSummerMoment was the day we pulled into Glacier Bay National Park aboard the NCL Sun back in June. It was just a breathtaking yet humbling experience. It was the highlight of our Alaskan cruise.

Even though we came home broke, and sore it was definitely worth seeing that priceless smile on her face! My best summer moment was back in 2010. I had my son in May and my hubby stayed home for over 4 weeks with us to be together and bond with our baby and each other. It was a great time, the best time in my life (well one of the best times I have 3 kids) I never had anyone stay home like that. He actually began saving leave when we found out I was pregnant (4 weeks along). His boss paid him for 2 full weeks because he was a first time dad and they believe in bonding with your child and spouse. He was home probably for around 6 weeks not 4.
No car, we walk a lot :o( But we find all kinds of money on the ground :o) Over $300 this summer alone!
