Keep Your Teeth Strong and Healthy with Colgate Enamel Health – Review

Disclosure review
As a teenager, I spent almost two years in braces to straighten out my teeth.  After getting the braces off, I wanted to keep my smile looking good (especially considering how much my parents had to pay to get that good smile).  Because of this, I am a sticker for good oral hygiene.  I brush at least three times a day, floss regularly, and visit the dentist every six months for a cleaning and checkup.

Whenever I need more toothpaste or a new toothbrush, I always turn to Colgate as it is a trusted brand with great teeth-related products.  And now, Colgate wants to make people aware of the importance of maintaining the health of your tooth enamel with a line of Colgate Enamel Health products.  I received a Colgate Enamel Health kit with three kinds of toothpaste (Colgate Enamel Health Multi-Protection Toothpaste, Colgate Enamel Health Sensitivity Relief Toothpaste, and Colgate Enamel Health Whitening Toothpaste), a Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush + Built-In Sensitivity Relief Pen, and a Colgate 360° Enamel Health Sensitive Toothbrush.  I also got a Baskin Robbins gift card to test sensitivity relief.

Tooth enamel is the outer layer of a tooth and protects it from decay by acting as a barrier against the effects of harsh materials (such as acid and sugar).  It also provides a layer of protection for the sensitive inner tooth areas.  However, once enamel is destroyed, it is gone and cannot be regenerated.  That is why it is so important to maintain the enamel that you do have, and the Colgate Enamel Health products help to do so.  I got two black tiles and some chalk as part of the kit that I received from Colgate to help demonstrate the importance of healthy strong tooth enamel.  One tile is rough to show what weakened enamel is like.  The other tile is smooth like healthy enamel.  I wrote “bad” on the rough tile with the chalk to show how easy it is for germs to stick to bad enamel.  I tried to write “good” on the smooth tile, but it was hard to do so because germs are less likely to stick to healthy smooth enamel.  What a great way to show the difference between weak and healthy enamel and the importance of maintaining your enamel!

Even before I received this kit, I was aware of the need to protect the enamel of my teeth.  About a year ago, I started feeling pain in some of my teeth whenever I ate or drank something cold or even brushed a little hard with my toothbrush in that area.  I was convinced that I had a cavity, but my dentist actually said that the pain was caused by the deterioration of enamel on those teeth (apparently it is common in people who have had braces on teeth with full bands cemented on).  He suggested that I try a sensitivity toothpaste to help with the pain.  I tried several different brands of sensitivity toothpastes, but found that I liked Colgate the best as it took care of the pain and tasted way better than the other brands.  I am excited now to use the Colgate Enamel Health toothpastes and toothbrushes, as they not only keep the pain away but also help strengthen my tooth enamel to keep it healthy.

I have been regularly using the Colgate Enamel Health Multi-Protection Toothpaste and Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush.  The toothbrush has extra soft bristles, so it feels nice on my teeth.  I like how the toothpaste is not only keeping my teeth clean, it is also making my teeth stronger and smoother by replenishing and polishing any weakened or rough enamel.  And when I feel a little pain in a tooth (which happens rarely), all I have to do is apply a little of the gel from the Sensitivity Relief Pen.  The pen can even be stored in the toothbrush, which is really handy.  With the whole line of Colgate Enamel Health products, I am set to keep my teeth healthy for some time.  I go to the dentist next week and I can’t wait see what he says about how my teeth are doing!

  1. The gel sounds really interesting. Super-soft bristles are always a good bet! I wish they were a bit easier to find. Some brands don’t go much beyond normal softness.

  2. I just tried this toothpaste and I love it, I think I’m going to stick with this type from now on.

  3. I want to try the enamel health multi protection toothpaste. Drinking lots of coffee and tea with lemon- the acids are harsh on teeth enamel. I hope this product helps.

  4. I’d like to try this, my teeth are terrible, anything too hot or too cold and I can expect tooth pain.
