Lutron #BestLight Sweepstakes

Eventually we would like to install more dimmers, as they really do set the mood – whatever that mood might be. In the kitchen a dimmer would be handy as I could turn it all the way up when I am cooking, but dim it a bit when we are entertaining. It will set the mood even more if I turn the dimmer way down and light a few candles. The possibilities are endless, really.
Installation was really easy, so if you are hesitant to install dimmers because you think it will be difficult and time consuming, don’t be. My husband was able to have this done in about 10 minutes.

We were really curious about something. Our old dimmer switch in the living room always got REALLY hot. We asked an electrician about that and he said it can happen with old or “cheap” switches. We hoped that it would no longer get hot with the new Lutron dimmer installed, and after hours of having the light on, it didn’t get hot, or even warm! That is a big safety issue for us, and it is good to have that resolved.
We are enjoying our dimmer so much that we plan on buying many, many more.
Another item to consider is a Maestro® motion sensor. I would also love to get a few of these!
The Maestro® motion sensor adds convenience by turning the lights on when you walk into a room and off when you leave. Install one in your hallway to prevent stumbles on the way to a late night slice of pie in the kitchen. A sensor in your bathroom guarantees no one will accidentally leave the lights on (including kids!).
If you are ready to set the mood in your home, don’t forget about Lutron!

I would love a motion switch. I get up before daylight and walk half way in a room around a table in the dark to get to the lamp. That would be nice. No more stumped toes.
I would give almost anything to be able to get this. Unfortunately, we live in an apartment where we are not allowed to change any of the fixtures, etc, even to make a major improvement. No dimmer switches, nothing. People who live in houses are SO lucky…it’s really their own, and they can make it their own. Gee…..!
I would love a motion switch! This is awesome!
This would be amazing! Some of our rooms would look wonderful with Serena window shades, I’m still using the roller ones we’ve had when we originally moved in, and it’s quite embarassing ;). I would love to switch to a smarter lighting and thermostat system! One thing we always try to do is save energy by turning down the thermostat when we’re away, would love to have better control like with a Honeywell thermostat. Also turning off the lights is a big one and sometimes we forget, so having control to turn off the lights with Caseta wireless whenever and wherever would be so helpful!
I agree!
Sorry but it still looks a little complicated to me
This would have helped me when the kids were young and never, ever turned off a light.
Years ago, I had a dimmer and loved it, but that was several moves ago and I haven’t given it a thought since. You’ve reminded me how nice it can be to control the level of light. And I love that this Lutron dimmer is so easy to install. Thanks for the review and the inspiration.
I like the dimmers. One can get the lighting just the way you want it
