These cold winter nights make me think of comfort food and snuggling under a blanket. But around dinner time, I find that I am kind of tired and wish that dinner could magically be made. If you have ever cooked with a slow cooker, you know that it is the ONLY way to go on nights like I described above.
I was recently invited to try the new Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes and receive a new Crock-Pot. Needless to say, I was very happy to do this, as I love the ease and taste of Crock-Pot cooking! I previously only had one at our “regular” home, but I sure was missing having a Crock-Pot at our new retirement/vacation home.
I thought that cooking in a Crock-Pot was easy before, but with the new seasoning mixes, it has definitely gotten even easier. Oh how I love that! I don’t have to worry about adding my own seasonings anymore.
Here is how easy it was to prepare a delicious meal using the new Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes (I chose the Hearth Beef Stew):
Since I started a little late in the day, I chose the 4 hour (high) setting per the instructions. I love how easy the choices are. My other slow cooker has too many options and makes a horrible shrieking noise when you press the button to start. This one is nice and quiet:
I continued to follow the easy-to-read directions on the back of the seasoning packet:
and added the meat and veggies:
I mixed the seasonings from the packet with the required amount of water and stirred until mixed completely, and poured over the ingredients.
I let it cook for four hours, and when it was finished, we couldn’t wait to dive in. It was super tasty and my daughter really loved the “broth”. It honestly couldn’t have been easier, and I cannot wait to try the other varieties of Crock-Pot Seasonings. The Pulled Pork seasoning sounds soooo yummy and it wil be great on sandwiches or served with cornbread or mashed potatoes.
If you love Crock-Pot cooking as much as I do, have I got some good news for you!
Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes is currently running the “Crockin’ in the USA” competition where slow cooker enthusiasts and fans can submit their own original slow cooker recipes using one of the new mixes. Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes is offering some fantastic prizes for winners and entrants too.
It is easy to enter! Just submit your one-of-a-kind recipe(s) through posts and photos on a special tab at the Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes Facebook fan page. The possibilities are endless, with three classic varieties to choose from: Hearty Beef Stew, Savory Pot Roast and BBQ Pulled Pork.

Mmm, that looks good!
I would love free groceries for a year! I’ve entered a few recipe contests with some success. I don’t use my crock pot much but I may have to dust it off and try some things out.
It’s definitely the time of year to pull out the Crock-Pot! There are so many recipes online too – I can’t wait to try some new ones 🙂
I haven’t seen these yet but I’m definitely going to keep looking. I usually use McCormick slow cooker packets but the beef stew one just isn’t all that great, I’d love to see how Crock Pot’s version compares.
I would absolutely try the stew and pot roast. In fact, I’m going to do it with their mix alone first, and then maybe…. YUM!
