Winnie the Pooh DVD
When I heard that Winnie the Pooh was coming to dvd I was very excited! This is a true classic that everyone can sit down and enjoy together. I had no idea that I would love this movie as much as I did. More surprisingly, my son has watched this movie every day since we received it. He sings the songs, dances with Tigger and Pooh, and stomps like a Backson.
The story reunites the entire Pooh gang when Eeyore loses his tail and they go on an adventure to find it! It is narrated by the voice of John Cleese and of course features incredible voices such as Jim Cummings, Tom Kenny (‘Spongebob SquarePants’), Bud Luckey (Toy Story 3) and even Craig Ferguson. Here is a list of who’s who.
Christopher Robbins – Jack Boulter
Winnie the Pooh – Jim Cummings
Tigger – Jim Cummings
Piglet – Travis Oates
Owl – Craig Ferguson
Eeyore – Bud Luckey
Rabbit – Tom Kenny
Kanga – Kristen Anderson-Lopez
Roo – Wyatt Hall
Backson – Huell Howser
Another lovable detail to this film is the music. Bobby Lopez and his wife Kristen wrote all of the six songs for Pooh and his pals, including “The Tummy Song”, “A Very Important Thing To Do”, “Everything is Honey”, “The Winner Song”, “The Backson Song”, and “Its Gonna Be Great”. The classic Winnie the Pooh theme song was composed by Henry Jackman and sung by the beautiful Zooey Deschanel! I’m a big fan of her acting and band (She & Him). Needless to say my jaw dropped when I recognized her voice. She & Him also provided vocals for “A Very Important Thing To Do” and “So Long”.
The movie has some rather adorable bonus features too. I really enjoyed the mini-adventures of Winnie the Pooh called “The Balloon”, and “The Ballad of Nessie.” These short films where accompanied by some deleted scenes, sing-a-long songs, and a history of Winnie the Pooh.
Overall I’m proud to have this dvd in my collection, my only wish is that it would have been longer. If you hurry and pick up your copy before November 1st, you can use this $5.00 off coupon for the Winnie the Pooh Movie!
