As I sit here in front of my computer we only have 2 weeks of summer left before my girls go back to school.  Wow! It is hard to believe when it is 85 degrees out that in just a few short months the weather will turn cold and we will be bundling our little ones up before walking them to the bus stop. Raised in Wisconsin, I have been a customer of Eddie Bauer since I can remember. Over my high school and young adult years I amassed quite a collection of wool sweaters all bought at Eddie Bauer. The warmer ones stayed in Wisconsin and were gifted to my close friends when I moved (I moved to CA so not much need for sweaters of any kind) but I kept a few of my favorites and wear them in the winter here in NC. I have always been more than satisfied with the quality of Eddie Bauer’s merchandise and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase items online, sight unseen, for that very reason.

We received the Girls’ MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie to review. The jacket is an incredibly thin and lightweight and has 800 fill Premium European Goose Down to keep your little adventurer cozy and warm. It is amazing to me how such a thin jacket will keep my daughter so warm. Gone are the days of needing bulky jackets in the winter. A comfortable down jacket will do the trick! With Eddie Bauer’s quality, the MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie will last many years to come which is good for our family because I have 2 other little adventurers that will also wear the awesome jacket.

My girl doesn’t really love wearing hats in the fall and winter but loves to pull her hood up and wear earmuffs. The hood fit her head well and will do a good job of keeping most of the winter wind out. Ideally I would love for her to also wear a hat underneath but I will take what I can get. The hood on the MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie is made of the same down as the rest of the jacket so I can be sure that it will keep her head nice and warm on those cold mornings while waiting for the bus.

It is sometimes hard in the winter to fit your backpack on when you have a bulky jacket. As you can see in the above picture my daughter could easily wear her backpack. The MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie will be perfect to run around in during recess and I know she won’t be too hot or or feel constricted by a bulky jacket.

The MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie has a nylon shell and stretch back panels for ease of movement. The jacket moved well with my daughter and even though it is above 80 outside she didn’t want to take it off inside either. She loved the color choices and as a mama I also approve. Eddie Bauer has chosen colors that are bright and vibrant but without the flash that you sometimes see in children’s outerwear. I appreciate this because I feel that her MicroTherm™ Down Hoodie will compliment all of her winter clothing rather than outshine them.
