Our daughter is a book worm, through and through. I can only imagine baby #2 will be one as well. Some of our favorite books are by Eric Carle, with the Very Hungry Caterpillar at the top of our list. Reading Carle’s creative stories and taking in such vibrant artwork, it really is no wonder children {as well as kids at heart} love his books so much!
I hadn’t given much thought to a nursery for this baby yet since {s}he’ll be sleeping in our room for at least the first year. But I did want to create an area in our room just for baby. A nook if you will. Eric Carle’s decorations would be the perfect fit in providing a very gender neutral look.
The Eric Carle Caterpillar Wall Clock will definitely help teach Luv how to tell time without the use of a digital clock. It’s also a sweet decoration with the famous and beloved caterpillar. The clock is phtalate free and printed with non-toxic inks, which is a plus.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Wall Appliqués are just plain adorable. This kit includes the caterpillar’s gluttonous fare, the caterpillar itself {both big and small}, the cocoon, and the beautiful butterfly. I love how forgiving these decals are. They are removable and reusable, which will make the transition from our room to baby’s room later on much easier. For now, I just have the caterpillar and its food on display. But when baby is old enough for his/her own room, I’ll add the cocoon and butterfly. How’s that for symbolism?
Finally, the Very Hungry Caterpillar Nightlight is a mini canvas painting with a purpose. This nightlight helps tie the whole room revamp together. It takes a 5-watt bulb and is a soft luminary to minimize stubbing of toes when getting to baby in the middle of the night.
The best part about this World of Eric Carle décor is that it will grow with the baby well into his/her toddler years. I love the playful colors and whimsical touch it gives a room. I can only imagine how gazing up at the decals will spark baby’s curiosity and wonder…
