Everybody’s got their list of must-haves once you have a baby. You’ve got the items that cross most moms’ lists, like nursing pillows, a comfortable and quality car seat, and a stroller. I’m beginning to notice that moms aren’t only saying they need a baby carrier anymore but are specifically recommending that you get an Ergo! Guess what? I’m with those moms.

I’m not even sure where to begin on how much of necessity this is, whether you’re a new mom or a mom of four, such as myself. When I was a new mom, my baby slept a lot and carrying her car seat around was no fun. I wasn’t very strong so I was practically dragging her along with me when I didn’t feel like lugging around her huge stroller. The Ergo is compact and easy to bring along, no matter where you’re traveling. You can also purchase the Ergo infant insert to make it perfect to hold your little bitty babies.

For me now with my large flock of children, I find that the Ergo makes multitasking so much easier. Carrying the fussy baby while you still manage to get dinner done or chase after the other kids. My son is 1 ½ now and my youngest daughter is 3. They both weigh exactly 28 ½ pounds and I can’t carry them in my arms for very long. It’s tiring and I don’t have the strength for it. We go on so many long walks whether around the block or at festivals, and they’re still at the young ages where they can’t walk as long or far. This is where the Ergo comes in in our lives with older kids!

When we go to the mall, neither of us feel like pushing around a stroller. I put my son in his Ergo and I can still hold two of my daughters’ hands and trek around. The Ergo is so comfortable that I barely notice it. It’s soft and it’s easy to put on, it’s so straight-forward. There is a little hood that gets tucked into a pocket and is perfect for holding the baby’s head when they fall asleep. I still use it for my little man when he falls asleep on the front of me. I mainly do the back and front carry but you can also hip carry with the Ergo. It’s all so much easier than trying to hold them with just your two arms, especially as they get older!

The Ergo is worth every penny and I mark it as an absolute necessity. It’s good for indoor use and outdoor use, staying at home or traveling, short walks or long walks, mommies or daddies, brand new babies or toddlers. I can put it on and adjust it all by myself or my husband will wear it. It’s soft, it’s simple, and it’s a staple.
