Eucerin May Prize Pack Giveaway (Vera Bradley cosmetic case & lotions)

May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month! Eucerin has some tips for keeping your skin safe this month (and always!).

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The incidence of skin cancer and specifically melanoma, a particularly aggressive skin cancer, has been reported to be linked to sun burns; so it’s important to take the correct precautions to protect you and your family against this disease.

With Memorial Day weekend approaching, you’ll probably be spending more time at barbeques and neighborhood get-togethers. Even if you put on sunscreen when you leave your house, you need to reapply every two hours, after towel drying, swimming or perspiring. Even when the sky is overcast, using a product with SPF is still important because the sun’s harmful UV rays can cause damage whether the weather is sunny or cloudy. Products like Eucerin’s Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30 and Everyday Protection Body Lotion SPF 15 are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation to help protect your skin.

What are some other tips you have to avoid the sun when outside for long periods of time?

I know for me, I set the alarm/reminder on my iphone for every two hours or so. I always have my phone with me, so there isn’t a chance that I will forget! Of course this means that while I am out and about or at a party or barbecue, I need to have lotion with me. I find that a purse-size bottle of sunscreen is perfect for when I am on the go. If I am going on vacation, and I know I will be outdoors, I make sure to back a really big bottle of sunscreen.

I have been using Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion each and every day, before I put on my makeup, to protect even further. I keep my bottle right next to my makeup bag to remind me. Even just running errands exposes you to harmful rays (which can also cause unsightly wrinkles).

    I don’t have melanoma but do know that your risks of getting cancer are higher from not protecting yourself from the sun & going into tanning beds!

  5. Just had a visit to my dermatologist to get a few moles checked, every thing was good, so I plan on going every year to keep a watch on them. I didn’t use sunscreen when I was younger, it just wasn’t stressed back then.. Now I and the family use sunscreen when we go in the sun. I plan on drinking more water and feeding the family more foods that are rich in antioxidants.

  260. I plan to keep my skin safe by using face and body lotions that contain an SPF. I also always use Lip Balms containing an SPF. Sun Protection is so important. Many companies do not offer products containing an SPF. I think it is great that Eucerin has products that contain an SPF! 🙂 🙂
