Famous Footwear Converse Shoes

I have heard of Famous Footwear before but I had never browsed around on their site.  I think I might be in love! They have a great selection of shoes for the whole family and a huge selection of Converse – one of my faves!  Just in time for back-to-school, Famous Footwear is all stocked up and ready to go, making your shopping experience easy.

Famous Footwear has just launched a Facebook contest called “Step It Up For Your School” – a national contest to inspire students to advocate for their high school to be improved. Entrants have a chance to win the $100,000 prize — $75,000 to transform their high school, and a $25,000 cash prize for the winning nominator to keep.

Here is how the contest works:

Participants can visit Famous Footwear’s Facebook page for details on how to nominate their high school to receive a donation of up to $75,000 by writing a 250-word essay explaining how their school would use the funds.

Famous Footwear Facebook fans can vote once each day for their favorite essay, and the high school that accumulates the highest number of votes will receive up to $75,000 towards a transformation project.

The writer of the essay that garners the most votes will receive a cash prize worth up to $25,000. For every vote cast, Famous Footwear will add $1 to the prize, up to $75,000 for the school donation and up to $25,000 for the individual cash prize.

The grand prize will be announced in late September. Entrants must be at least 13 years old.

How neat is that? We all know that our schools need help. Big help! This is a great opportunity for schools to get much needed supplies, repairs, or whatever else might be on their wish list.  And the winning entrant will also receive $25,000 – they might even choose to use that toward their college education!
