How many of you remember decorating your room with a plethora of posters and magazine cutouts? I know that just about every available space on my walls was definitely covered. From movie poster finds within my VHS tape packaging to those awesome black light images, boy band group shots, photos of friends, and more, I had it all. Our children, on the other hand, have opted for stickers and things like window clings. Now, while we did set them up with a pretty spectacular bedroom using these, unfortunately, nothing survived our recent move. Not wanting to opt for small and flimsy again, we decided to go big – really big!
Meet Fathead.
“Fathead is the industry leader of graphics products for large & small spaces – led by authentic, officially licensed sports & entertainment graphics. Fathead gives fans the opportunity to feel the passion For Real by bringing their favorite inspiration to life.”
My first experience with Fathead was a few years back when a family member received one as a gift. Having a life-sized wall graphic of a favorite NFL player displayed in her bedroom was certainly pretty neat. I remember goofing around and taking photos with it pretending to be with the actual man behind the mask. Shockingly, the Fathead was actually so realistic that many people believed our fake pictures to be true. Now, surely it helped that she chose a Philadelphia Eagles player and had previously attended their summer football camp so the story was plausible but, alas, to have a giant sticker be considered “for real” is certainly saying something for the quality of Fathead products.
As the years have passed, however, I seemingly forgot about the company’s existence. As my life slowly switched over into the changes of motherhood, I found myself picking up random room décor on a whim while shopping for daily oddities. More often than not, these decorative items came in the form of small wall stickers that were based on my children’s preferred character of choice at the time. We’ve gone through a handful of different categories but all ended in the same result – trash. Being far too easy for little ones to rip off and not quite sticky enough to reapply, these one and done items became more trouble than what they were worth. After making the move to our new home, I made the decision to no longer get these and, instead, find something more long-lasting. And that, well, that would be where Fathead came in.
Having never actually had a Fathead of my own, I was incredibly excited when I was presented with the opportunity to give it a try first hand. Now, as much as I love sports, having a life-sized athlete stuck to my wall wasn’t quite my idea of decorating. That being said, I was thrilled to learn that Fathead has so much more than just sporting related graphics.
“Based in Detroit, Michigan, Fathead manufactures all products in the USA and Canada for purchase worldwide. Fathead carries thousands of images and maintains over 500 license agreements with leading consumer brands across many industries and professional sports leagues.”
With everything from Disney and Nickelodeon, nursery décor and NASCAR, superheroes and musicians, to fine art and even space exploration, Fathead truly has something for everyone. For myself, being in a house full of guys, it’s hard to pick and choose anything that I would prefer. Really though, who wouldn’t want to be greeted by David Beckham when they walked through the door?! Alas, after taking the whole family into consideration, we opted for a pretty snazzy piece. Just check this out!
As an entire family that enjoys off-roading and loud vehicles where bigger equals better, choosing the Fathead collection of Monster Jam graphics was a no brainer for us. I mean, after all, what little boy doesn’t enjoy monster trucks? They are the epitome of cool and, for this particular item, bigger really is better… for real!
Originally, I had planned to display our REAL. BIG. Grave Digger on a much larger wall within our house but, after some persuasive begging from our little ones, we ended up placing it on a slightly smaller wall within the kids’ playroom. Although it doesn’t quite fit as it should – it’s really, really big! – it actually works out quite unexpectedly well. You see, at 6’5” wide and 3’11” tall, it is just the back flag portion of the graphic that slightly overhangs the closet door within the room.
Our little one came up with the perfect plan for this – adorn our awesome new Fathead with an equally awesome Grave Digger souvenir flag! Now, as we’re secretly planning a trip to a future Monster Jam event, this was actually a pretty genius idea. Just don’t spoil our surprise!
“Grave Digger is one of the most famous monster trucks in the world with its infamous green and black flames and red headlights.”
It even came with a few fun extras!
To say that we love our Fathead Grave Digger would be a complete understatement. It has become the primary focus of the kids’ playroom and something that they escort all of our guests over to see so that they can show it off. One of their favorite points to make… “It’s even bigger than Daddy!”
Fathead graphics are huge! Real, and REAL. BIG., these wall decals bring all of your favorite action images, characters, vehicles, and more to life through full-size images that’ll stick just about everywhere. Choose a wall and just stick it on. Smooth it out and you’re all set. Rearranging furniture? Painting the room? Moving? No worries! Just peel it off, move and reuse it, and stick it again. With hundreds of options to choose from, you will certainly find something that suits your taste. If not, and if you’re one of those pickier types, Fathead even offers custom options! Boom! Problem solved! They really DO have something for everyone!
