Is Ground Turkey Good for You?

I think most people are really wanting to know if ground turkey is better than ground beef, chicken, or pork. My answer is they are all pretty equal in my book. The main benefit of using ground turkey is having less fat in your meat. So, if you are having to restrict fat or want a less greasy meat in your dinner then I prefer ground turkey. However, if you find a grass fed beef in your supermarket, those are also great options. It becomes preference and should be based on your personal dietary needs.

Which is healthier ground chicken or ground turkey?

When comparing the nutritional composition of each item you will see they are very similar. The only difference is that the chicken actually has a little less protein in it. The fat composition is the same. So, again it will come down to taste and what you are needing to make with it. My kids happen to love both ground turkey and chicken, but I make different things with each item. My ground turkey recipes are usually Mexican based, but ground chicken you can make some great meatballs!

Are frozen turkey burgers healthy?

Absolutely. You just need to make sure you find the ones that do not have added sugar, or ingredients that are not needed, or may cause a dietary intolerance to you. Its personal preference, but I like using the fresh meat cause it just generally taste better and soaks up all the ingredients I add to the meat. Its so similar to ground beef that its just an easy replacement. But, yes frozen or fresh are both healthy options.
