In the Spring I like to keep a vase of flowers somewhere in my house. Most of the time they are lilacs from my dad’s (soon they will be from my own yard!). So when I got the opportunity to review flowers from Flower Muse, I was excited to have flowers in the house during the colder months.

Originally I was sent 6 dozen red rose, but due to an issue that is unknown to us, I had to contact the company to let them know there was a problem. Their customer service was wonderful and they said they make sure their customers are 100% satisfied with their flowers. I was then sent 8 bunches of Moon Vista Carnations and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with them (Fun Fact: Carnations were my flowers for my wedding. I had light purple and white carnations in my bouquet). They arrived nicely bundled and wrapped in a box. The carnations weren’t fully opened yet which meant they would last longer once I had them set out.

This was after I had taken 6 of the bunches out.

The carnations are VERY long before trimming up the stems. I was told to trim the stems at least 1″ before putting them in room temperature water. There were about 20 carnations in each bundle so I trimmed 120 stems since I used 6 bundles in my own home. While I was trimming the stems, my son Jaxon came over and wanted to help.

You can see how long the stems are. This is my 3 year old holding them before being trimmed up.

To let Jaxon help, I trimmed quite a bit off the stem and then handed each flower to him so he could put it in the vase for me. He had so much fun helping me. It was so cute to watch him, and just about every flower he had to smell before putting it in the vase.

Once I had 3 bundles in each of my large vases, I set them aside to let them soak up the water. I was told it could be 5-8 hours before they would fully open.

They looked REALLY dark at first. But after a full night I could see a difference in the color. They certainly lightened up a bit and looked even more beautiful than before.

The front flowers here were one of the first I trimmed, by the time I trimmed up the other 2 bunches for this vase the first were beginning to open. You can see the difference.

Beautiful Purple color!

I took one bunch to my aunt as a thank you for helping me with the kids a lot recently, and I took a bunch to my dad who wanted to take them to work and hand them out to brighten the day of a few ladies. There were a few who had never seen a purple carnation before, and they were so happy to receive these.

Flower Muse sells many different types of flowers in a variety of colors, some of whichI had never seen before. They sell them direct from the farms and at wholesale prices.
