This review and giveaway post makes me almost giddy. Let me explain. My daughter is 14 years old now, and I really miss the days of seeing her get excited about a new toy. She has pretty much outgrown “toys”, but still does love to fool around with unique and interesting things. When I learned that I would be reviewing an item from Land of Nod, I was unsure if I would be able to find something that she would be interested in. Boy, was I wrong!

The Land of Nod was founded in 1995 by Scott Eirinberg and Jamie Cohen in the basement of Eirinberg’s house. They started with the idea of bringing high-quality kids furnishings to parents who wanted something different for their children’s rooms and playrooms. One (long) year later, The Land of Nod mailed its very first catalog to 15,000 people. Nearly a year after that, The Land of Nod moved out of its parents’ basement and into its own house in Wheeling, Illinois. They grew up so fast.

The Land of Nod continued to expand their brand and build their website and catalog business until 2000, when Crate and Barrel (yes, that Crate and Barrel) came calling with an offer to form an equity partnership. The partnership with Crate and Barrel allowed The Land of Nod to focus on opening retail locations and turning their website into the premier online children’s furnishings destination for customers nationwide.

The Land of Nod’s first store opened in 2002 in Northbrook, Illinois. Within two years, there were three more new arrivals to celebrate – a store in Chicago, a store in Seattle, Washington, and a store in Oakbrook, Illinois.

Today, The Land of Nod is a leading catalog, web, and retail company based in Northbrook, Illinois. In addition to specializing in exclusive children’s furniture, bedding, playrooms, and accessories, The Land of Nod also carries popular baby gear brands in strollers, car seats, clothing, toys, and much more. I showed my daughter the items we could choose from for review, and she instantly knew she wanted the “Nothing Up My Sleeve Magic Kit” from Land of Nod {$35.00}. She has always been fascinated with magic, and we were both thrilled to see this.

She was so happy when the magic kit arrived, and she opened it immediately, sat down on the family room floor, and showed me each magic trick as she learned it. What a great assortment of tricks that is included in this kit. The kit includes classic magic tricks such as “Disappearing Ball,” “Vanishing Coin,” “Secret Silks,” “Money Maker,” “Cylinder Squeeze” and many more. The set also comes with a velvet bag, a magic wand, a wood magic box and more. Everything that you can think of is included in this set for your budding magician!

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the products in this kit. They are strong and very sturdy.   believe they will hold up well, even with the roughest of kids.

My daughter practiced magic tricks for a couple of hours the first day, and I had a blast trying to figure out how each one worked.  Of course, she wouldn’t tell me, so most of the tricks are still a mystery, but that is the magic of “magic”, right?

  41. I would the the Easel Does It. It’s such a beautiful easel, and I was eyeing it earlier while shopping on the site. My son’s bedding set is from them and we absolutely love the choices and quality.

  108. I like the Charming Two Story Colonial dollhouse. With it being unfinished I could paint it all of the colors my daughter loves!
