Anyone else tired of all the confusion around health? What does it actually take to be healthy and thriving? I often find it difficult to wade through all the information that is available to me in regards to eating right, exercise, sleep, stress, brain health, the microbiome, longevity and so much more. Over the years I have read SO many book that I wanted to share the most helpful ones to hopefully inspire you! Check out my list of health and wellness book must reads and find some answers you have been searching for in regards to your health!

Fiber Fueled
The title might turn some people away, but this book is full of things I never knew about in regards to the purpose of eating fiber. Not only that but it breaks down all the types of fiber and gives a guide on how to ease into eating all sorts of fiber. The author provides a menu plan that teaches your body to adjust to consuming fiber without those side-effects of gas and bloating. Basically training your body to use it for its actual purpose which is to grow healthy bacteria in our guts and to pull out waste and toxins. I highly recommend Fiber Fueled to anyone wanting to elevate their health.
Eat to Beat Disease
Oh.my.goodness. I can’t described how useful this book is to everyone. Dr. William Li who has a famous Ted Talk that EVERYONE needs to watch has this book Eat to Beat Disease. He teaches you how to literally overcome disease with the food that you eat. He started the Angiogenesis Foundation. They found out through extensive research that the food we eat can healed our chronic diseases. For instance, starving cancer cells. That Ted Talk mentioned above gives a better summary but just know that if you are struggling with Cancer, Pain, Diabetes, Arthritis, Autoimmune conditions – you can learn how to eat to beat those diseases. It sounds surreal, but its true. He has all the science in his book. READ IT!!!!
Sleep Smarter
Shawn Stevenson never disappoints with this books. I first read Sleep Smarter several years ago and it opened my eyes to how important sleep is and how to actually get quality sleep. Its amazing how just our lifestyle is hindering us from deep restorative sleep. Learning about Blue Light, Morning Sun, Magnesium and so much more. He provides a 14 day guide on improving your sleep and I can honestly say I have never slept better!! He also has a wonderful podcast, The Model Health show – its #1 in health and wellness. Check it out as well!
Brain Food
I have mentioned this book before but It would be a mistake to now have it on this list. Dr. Lisa Misconi is beyond brilliant and she provides information on how to prevent cognitive decline by the food we eat! What?! You are saying the food we are eating is damaging our brains? Yes, in fact it is! She does a fantastic job in this book provides a list of foods to add to your diets to enhance your brain health and also explains what is actually happening to our brains with the processed foods and sugars that we are consuming. Its another MUST READ!
Pegan Diet
I will admit, I have not read this one yet. However, I do listen to Dr. Mark Hymans podcast, The Doctors Farmacy on a weekly basis. He covers what the Pegan Diet actually is and how to implement it into your life. This “diet” or lifestyle really should be the only thing people focus on. Having your plate 3/4 full of plant based foods and 1/4 meat. Really providing our bodies the rainbow spectrum of different fruits and veggies is where the ultimate health resides. I do encourage you to listen to his podcast and read his book, he provides such useful information each week regarding every type of chronic condition and how you can heal from those conditions with the food that you eat, which is cheaper than medicine!
Okay, these are my health and wellness book must reads for this season. Try at least one of them, you will not be disappointed, or at least watch that Ted Talk I mentioned earlier. It will blow your mind! All of these books will enhance your health and take it to the next level. Enjoy!
