Hidden Pictures App by Highlights Magazine Review

Flashback: I’m sitting in an extremely tiny waiting room at the dentist’s office and as a very young child, I’m antsy and start searching around the room for something to do. My mom picks up a Highlights magazine for me and we flip through together. She comes upon the Hidden Pictures section and works with me to find each picture. Hidden Pictures has a list of pictures for you to find, like a pencil or a hat, within a big picture like pirate ship or an amusement park.

I had terribly crooked teeth so my visits ranged from once a month to even twice a week for many years. Over the years that office changed. Toys would come and go, a television set was put in, but I could always count on Highlights magazine. We hit a point where I could the Hidden Pictures myself but my mom didn’t accept no, she wanted to do them with me. So together we sat every visit, trying to find every one.

Fast forward to today, I never could have imagined Hidden Pictures would be available on-the-go like this, with levels almost like a video game. Like my mom, I’m still an adult who enjoys these games so I will tell you that I stayed up until 2am the first night of playing with Hidden Pictures® Puzzles App by Highlights Magazine. I told myself that it was because I needed to get screenshots to share with you all but let’s be honest, it’s really just a fun thing to do.

Obviously my kids Hidden Pictures® Puzzles App the minute they got their hands on it but I wasn’t even remotely surprised. Really, I’m just writing this review to put the information out there for you guys who haven’t heard about it because everyone who’s tried the classic Hidden Pictures in print within Highlights Magazine knows how awesome it is and we just don’t want the rest of you to be left out of the fun!

As I’ve illustrated, the Hidden Pictures® Puzzles App is a very family-friendly app so it’s something that you can do with your children. In my opinion, that makes it age-less. If your child is too young, you can just give them a lot of hints. My mom and I are proof that you’re never too old for it. For the kids, it helps to develop skills and keep those little minds expanding. For the adults, it’s a nice game to relax with.

There are multiple ways to play with each puzzle on the Hidden Pictures® Puzzles App. You can shut off the clock, great for the younger ones who take a little longer to find each item. You can also race against the clock or be directed in the order of which you must find each object. Get hints if you’re struggling to find something.

The free version gives you six puzzles but for a mere $2.99/month, you can get 14 new puzzle packs delivered each month. Bonus puzzles are also awarded when you complete a secret collection of objects. This app is totally worth it and comes highly recommended by me, my kids, and my own mom. Take our word for it!
