Give Your Child and All-Star Experience with I See Me!

I See Me! I'm an All-Star, Boys

Now that summer is in full swing, outdoor activities are at an all-time high. Between the simplicity of backyard play to the on-the-go chaos of team sports, children are always out and about doing something.

Earlier this summer, our little guy had his first experience with little league. He had an absolute blast with it but there were definitely some trying times in the mix of things. You see, he’s the big kid here at home. Yes, he has had to learn of sharing and teamwork through his role as big brother and while at school as well but he’s been the master of most all challenges he’s come across thus far. Baseball, however, was different. You see, our local little league groups a large number of children of numerous ages in order to make full teams. With many of his teammates being a few years older than him, our big boy became the baby. And, with that, he was lost. At times, he’d run in there full force, go down swinging, and hold his head high with a smile on his face. Then there were other times where the defeat got to him. He’d get aggravated after not being able to do something as well as he’d wish he could. He’d ask me if we could go home and play in the backyard with Daddy and his little brother instead.

Thankfully, the back and forth worked itself out as the season progressed and his confidence grew immensely. He understood that being a good player was much more than just performing well. It means being a friend, a good sport, respectful, kind, and so much more. Comprehending all of that is trying for many adults let alone a child. As a parent and a former athlete, it is important to me to teach my children to not only be good sports but to be good people as well. Unfortunately, it can be a difficult thing to explain to little ones. One way in which we can do just that is through literature. Reading books and having different scenarios played out through the pages of a story can help a child to easily comprehend the different lessons within a tale. For us and for little league, there was I See Me!

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the I See Me! products. With a plethora of wonderful children’s books and other fun items available, they provide families with an incredible lineup of great products. One of my personal favorites is the I See Me! I’m an All-Star personalized book.

I See Me! I'm an All-Star, Boys

Available in, both, boys’ and girls’ versions, this book will help give your child the opportunity to learn what it means to truly be an all-around all-star.

I See Me! I'm an All-Star, Girls

And, of course, this is with “all-star” meaning not only in sports but in life, too.

The I’m an All-Star personalized storybook teaches your child how to be a great team player! Your child will learn that being an ALL-STAR means:

#1: Having a positive attitude
#2: Being a good sport
#3: Always playing by the rules
#4: Practicing, practicing, practicing!
#5: Encouraging others on your team
#6: Taking care of your body

And not only does this book do wonders in regard to teaching children such important lifelong lessons but it does so by incorporating something incredibly important to them – themselves! In good ol’ I See Me! fashion, each book can be personalized with your child’s photo as well as their name and choice of five favorite sports!

I See Me! I'm an All-Star

Your child’s photo will grace the cover of the I’m an All-Star book as it is proudly displayed in a spectacular star. From there, their name and photo will appear in multiple locations throughout the twenty-four pages of the book making reading a truly personalized experience.

I See Me! I'm an All-Star

Written by award-winning author Jennifer Dewing and illustrated by Shalto Walker, this 8.5” by 8.5”, 24-page hardcover book is sure to become a favorite for kids 2-6 years old.

Although it is recommended for children within the 2-6 year age range, I can easily see this book appealing to children of just about any age. The story itself is a timeless one and I absolutely love that it takes a subject as loveable as sports and turns it into a lesson about sportsmanship and life in general. Being a good sport pertains to so much more than just one’s time spent on a baseball diamond or a football field and, with I See Me!, children can be reminded of that at any time with the perfect storybook meant just for them.
