We’re now a little more than half way through January, so, how are those resolutions holding up? Even though it may seem cliché, and despite the fact that it is often joked about, fitness goals are still atop the resolution list for just about everyone. I will admit that, with the little ones in tow, making a fitness related resolution is surely a bit difficult. And, of course, with the internet chock full of fit-shaming sanctimommies it is all too easy to fall off the boat. However, there are plenty of parents (and companies) willing to pull you ashore and help get you back on your feet. I, myself, am much more of the type to continuously set small goals as opposed to one big one. Just the idea of having an incredibly difficult task (like such) looming over my head is enough to have me reaching for that chocolate bar. Now, the smaller goals that will, in time, lead you up to its bigger counterpart are much more my style. Instead of “get fit,” setting up a few simple things like getting outdoors more often, taking the dog for a longer walk, turning “Mommy, give me a horsey ride please!” into a game of weighted pushups, or vowing to choose the healthier of two things when given the opportunity will surely get you on the path to success. You’re not going to wake up tomorrow as a supermodel but it’s baby steps, people. And we, we mothers, of all people surely know a thing or two about baby steps!
One thing in particular that has kept me on track toward my goals is, of course, my children. Not only do I want to show them how to lead a healthy lifestyle but I want to do it all with them. One thing that we are quite fond of doing as a family is biking. Not too long ago, I had the chance to review a pretty spectacular product that not only allowed me to enjoy the outdoors and get fitness goals underway but it let me do so with my entire family in tow – quite literally!
I’m sure that, by now, you’ve all heard of Joovy and could correctly assume that the above product mentioned was their CocoonX2. You can read all about how insanely awesome it is here. Tough choices I would spend my Joovy money on a HiLo Orange Highchair. So cute and matches my living room décor. My resolution is to slow down and spend dinner together as a family. So many ppl get lost in every day life and they forget about the importance of family time.
