Now that the cooler weather has finally arrived, all I can think about are those wondrous family nights all snuggled up by the fireplace, a warm cup of hot chocolate in hand, some tasty snacks nearby, and a great movie to enjoy. During the chaos of the busy fall and winter holiday season, it’s not too often that we have the opportunity to do that so I am quite thankful for the rare occasions on which we can. Recently, my family and I had the chance to do exactly that in celebration of the release of what was, by far, our favorite film of the year – Jurassic World.
For those of you that are not familiar with Jurassic World, here is a bit of a back story…
As with each of the previous movies, we’ve always been left wondering what happens next. One of the most iconic scenes that I remember from the previous films came at the end of the very first movie. As the group flew away in the helicopter, the island and the dinosaurs could still be seen through the window. The pterosaurs flew off into the great beyond and that alone gave us the inclination of more. There’s always more. And, now, it’s here… in Jurassic World.
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
I am sure that many of you have seen the multitude of features covering the initial theater release, an exciting Twitter party, popular themed toys, coinciding gaming entertainment, and the following digital release. Of course, all of that is what led to our very own family movie night. Recently released and now available for purchase on DVD and Blu-Ray, you can finally enjoy the wonder and amazement of Jurassic World right in the comfort of your own home!
Having personally waited for this film’s release since my own childhood days and now having a dino-savvy duo by way of my own little ones, Jurassic World has certainly worked its way into our lives rather quickly. We saw the films in-theater release, I took part in the Twitter parties, we’ve collected an array of toys, we celebrated a themed birthday, and much, much more! Jurassic World has become more than just another phenomenal blockbuster; it has truly become a “Jurassic” world through and through. Just take a look!
Having started out as nothing more than a simple yet extravagant “spared no expense” idea from the one and only Mr. John Hammond, the Jurassic way of life has now become a world full of wonder and adventure to be enjoyed by the masses. Whether you’re enjoying it with the masses or, like me, prefer to snuggle up on the couch with the whole family, the all new Jurassic World movie is one that shouldn’t be missed. And, in either case, you’ll need to set yourself up with a great little collection of goodies to help take your viewing experience to the next level.
This is my kind of movie night!
The wonderful folks behind the Jurassic World brand were kind enough to send my family this amazing array of tasty treats, scrumptious snacks, gorgeous glasses, and even a cozy blanket so that we could properly enjoy the in-home Jurassic World experience.
We are blanket people for sure and I was thrilled to be able to add this one to our collection. Of course, one the kids saw it, they claimed it as their own. Thankfully, it’s big enough to share. While many families do cuddle up with one another for movie nights, having the chance to snuggle with this ridiculously cozy blanket complete with Jurassic World logo to watch none other than the Jurassic World movie just made it that much more special.
I thought these were so cute! It’s no secret that such things as chip clips often end up lost or misplaced so seeing a nice little collection of them was certainly helpful. Because each is adorably branded with the Jurassic World logo, the kids decided that these clips would be used only for our designated movie snacks. After all, you always want to make sure that you have fresh and delicious snacks on hand when you go to start up that movie.
Drinks! Who doesn’t want drinks?! During any movie night, you always have to make sure that you have plenty of beverages nearby. Aside from the kids’ cups, all of the cups in our house are made of glass. Unfortunately however, glass isn’t exactly child friendly nor is it ideal for being in the living room. These cups are surely the exception to our drinkware debacle. With the gorgeous look of glass but the safety and durability of hard plastic, they were the perfect addition to our Jurassic World movie night.
Mike and Ike
Sing it with me… “I like candy!” Despite the fact that our family doesn’t really consume much candy, movie time is our exception. Think about it; if you were to go to the theater, the usual snack bar order consists of popcorn, a drink, and some candy. Here at home, we were able to check off that latter item thanks to the inclusion of the Mike and Ike Jurassic World Tropical Fruits. Not only are these tasty little treats ridiculously delicious but they’re adorable! In addition to the usual Mike and Ike shaped candies, the box includes cute little “dinosaur eggs” as a way to join in on the Jurassic World fun.
Who doesn’t love Peeps? Going perfectly with the mini marshmallows atop my hot chocolate, these special edition Jurassic World Peeps are certainly a delicious addition to your movie night snack roundup. Conveniently shaped into adorable dinosaur eggs and decorated with none other than the outline of one of the fan favorite dinosaurs, these Peeps are a must have for sure!
This is the one that we’ve all been waiting for – popcorn! Now, with that being said, it’s rare to find a group of folks that all enjoy the exact same flavor of popcorn. That’s why the Jurassic World team put this nifty collection together. Count them! There’s not one, not two, but three (yes, three!) different yet equally delicious types of popcorn perfect for your snacking pleasure. The kids loved that they were able to simply spin the bucket around to easily grab a handful of their preferred popcorn at that moment. Despite me not granting them permission to scarf down the entire bucket during our first movie night, they are thrilled that they’ll be able to utilize the bucket for their themed toys once we do finish off the tasty treats currently inside.
With that collection of goodies on hand and with the all new Jurassic World film on DVD and Blu-Ray ready to play, our movie night is surely one to be remembered. We’ve already enjoyed quite a few family nights like such and I am really looking forward to being able to do it all over again this weekend.
The Jurassic World theme park lets guests experience the thrill of witnessing actual dinosaurs, but something ferocious lurks behind the park’s attractions – a genetically modified dinosaur with savage capabilities. When the massive creature escapes, chaos erupts across the island. Now it’s up to Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) to save the park’s tourists from an all-out prehistoric assault.
The adventure that can be found throughout the entire film is utterly remarkable and I am so glad that we are finally able to enjoy every single aspect of it right from our very own living room. And now, at the request of our little ones, we are in the midst of planning a Jurassic weekend where we’ll enjoy the entire collection of movies starting with Jurassic Park and, of course, ending with the fabulous newly released Jurassic World.
