A Kid’s Guide to the 2018 Winter Games
The Olympics are always an exciting time for me – I love watching both summer and winter games. My favorite summer games include ladies gymnastics and swimming. The winter games are a whole different ball game but I really enjoy watching skiing and ice skating. Before we know it, the 2018 Winter Olympics will be here – why not get the kids involved with “A Kid’s Guide to the 2018 Winter Games” by Curious Kids Press!
Figure skating is definitely my favorite winter Olympic sport. Ever since I was a little girl, there was something fascinating about watching the skaters glide so gracefully across the ice (side note: I have tried to ice skate several times, and I am anything but graceful!). I love how this book tells all about each sport, and the stats too.
“Curious Kids Press (CKP) is a small, independent publisher of high-interest nonfiction books for young readers (ages 8-12). We have a series of books about countries and cultures around the world as well as several biographies.”
A Kid’s Guide to the 2018 Winter Games is such a fun book, and if your child(ren) haven’t seen, or really paid attention to the Winter games before, this is a great way to get them interested. The book is a fun look at the history of the Winter Olympics as well as at some of the Team USA “athletes to watch” at the 2018 games.
There is a neat part in the book, about 15 Team USA “Athletes to Watch”, as well as the 15 sport “disciplines” that make up the 2018 Winter Games. It might be fun for the kids (and you!) to pick favorites and see whose choices made it to the Olympics, and follow along with their progress. Of course, it won’t be until January when we know the results (who qualifies for the Olympic team in various sports), so we will all just have to be patient. You can check back to see the final selection on the Curious Kids website.

A lot of great information for the kids that are interested in the Olympics. One of my nieces loves the winter olympics the other one wants nothing to do with them.
