#StartYourSmoothie with KURA – Cuisinart Smoothie Blender

Disclosure review
It’s officially spring and we’ve seen glimpses of that beautiful weather…it leaves me wanting more! It’s this time of year that I really start evaluating my health and try to get back on track. Okay, it’s usually because I receive a stern talking to from my doctor, but I digress. Being diabetic, I’m looking into my options when it comes to meals and/or snacking. I’ve recently found smoothies and I’m hooked! Especially when I’ve added the all-new Kura Smoothie powder.

kura1
Kura Smoothie powder offers 14 grams of pure, grass-fed antibiotic-free New Zealand dairy protein, vitamins and minerals in each serving. Available in three flavor bases: Vanilla, Chocolate and Berry.

It’s GMO and gluten free and contains no added sugar. Additionally there are no preservatives.

I’m not the only one who’s enjoying the Kura Smoothie powder. My 15 year old decided to run track this year and the season is in full swing. He’s such a picky eater and I worry about his eating habits, especially with all of the running he’s doing! Recently, he asked me if I could create a fruity smoothie, sans bananas.  He’s not a fan.  So, I tossed a couple of things into the blender and found a winner!

Kura Smoothie
Peach Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of almond milk (we use unsweetened vanilla)
2 ½ cups of frozen peaches
½ cup of greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
2 TBSP of freshly grated ginger
Honey to taste, 1-2 tablespoons
1 scoop of Vanilla Kura Smoothie Powder

Directions:

Add all to blender, starting with the wet ingredients first. Add more milk to your liking.  You end up with a smooth and frothy drink that is so delightfully tasty!

I’ve been playing around and use Truvia to sweeten my smoothies. Honey is a great sweetener for the kiddos though.

Don’t feel like you have to dig out the blender.  Johnny uses a shaker bottle with milk, chocolate syrup and chocolate Kura Smooties powder for a quick morning drink or after school snack.

  1. I really like blueberries in my smoothies. I bet the Vanilla Kura Smoothie powder would taste really good with some blueberries 🙂

  2. since i hate veggies i’d like to hide them in a smoothie of strawberries and raspberries and maybe some blueberries

  3. My favorite flavor…yikes! I keep changing my favorite. It is usually chocolate, but I throw so much extra ‘stuff’ in so the chocolate doesn’t always ‘go’ with the rest of the flavors. So, then I switch to vanilla. I’ve never tried berry…sounds delicious!!!

  4. I really love Chocolate shake flavor best for smoothies- I add instant coffee or powdered malt whenever i want a change.

  5. I usually make my smoothie with spinach strawberries and banana. The banana flavor stands out the most so that is what I like.

  6. I love frozen pineapple, frozen cherries, kale, a little bit of water, a little bit of kefir and a banana.

  7. i never used this brand before but I like to make mango pineapple with kale at home. I would love to try this

  8. Hello! My favorite smoothie flavor is very berry. All of my favorite red berry flavors mixed together. So good! Thank-you. 🙂

  9. I love to put every and all berries I have on hand in a smoothie. I grow raspberries, and blueberries, so I have a lot of those in the freezer. I’ll throw in a banana and mangos.. gosh anything! LOL Great way to start the day, I love to put in Yogurt or Kefer too.

  10. My favorite smoothie flavor is probably vanilla peanut butter. With a hint of cinnamon thrown in.
