Lakeshore Learning Complete the Word Phonics Magnetic Board Review

18 days.  That is how many days until my girls are home with me for the summer!  We always have things to do during the school year but after a week of being lazy right after school gets out I, like many other mamas, will be wondering “What should we do now?”.

Lakeshore Learning creates innovative educational materials that spark young imaginations, instill a sense of wonder and foster a lifelong love of learning.  The toys are well made and will last for years to come!  I could get lost for hours on their website exploring different products to do arts & crafts, mathematics, play music, or even social studies and science.  I chose to review the Complete-the-Word Phonics Magnetic Board because I have a 4 year old who is just learning to put the words together and also a Kinder that can always use a bit of extra practice.

You can choose cards for Beginning Sounds, Middle Sounds, and Ending Sounds.  For my youngest I did beginning sounds and she loved it!  With the help of the picture she did a lot better than I expected her to do.  The magnets are easy to move around the board and put in the correct spot.  We will be playing with this a lot this summer while she learns her words.

There are 30 sturdy activity cards total that slide into the board.  The 18 magnetic letters move easily around the board with the magnetic want.  The Complete the Word Phonics Magnetic Board is for children 4 and up and retails for $39.99.

Although I didn’t review the next few items I have had the pleasure of seeing them and working with them.  This past weekend we were at a crafting party and they had these awesome No-Spill Paint Cups.  It was pretty warm that day and the caps on the paint cups worked out excellent keeping the paint inside from drying out.  You can easily shut the lid for temporary storage as well!  I loved them and wished I would have had them when my older 2 were smaller and still painting during the day.

Last year Ruby and I took a music class together and I remember them playing with these Egg Shakers.  It is so easy for those little hands to grab and keep the beat and make some noise of their own!  The colors were very vivid as I recall and a huge hit with all the kiddos in the clas

jj926_fWhile surfing around Lakeshore Learning’s website I spotted the Classic Birch Tabletop Writing Center,  this organizer would be my 7 & 6 year olds dream.  They are always creating things and writing and illustrating stories.  I think that this might go on our Christmas list because it has a spot for everything!  That would be a mamas dream!  I am forever picking up crayons and markers.  This looks very well made which I believe after seeing other items from Lakeshore Learning.

  1. They have so many neat things! I think I will be stocking up on some of their summer activity books for when we go camping and take car trips this summer 🙂

  3. As a teacher, I have used activities in math by Lakeshore Learning. I especially love to learning activity center that helps to keep all of those small things organized. It is such a great idea to keep children involved in learning during the summer months so that they don’t have to spend the beginning of the next school year reviewing.

  4. These look like some great products…I always look for things that make learning fun, or allow them to learn while playing…things that they can play with, not things that play for them!!

  5. These are some great learning products that are fun too. I love the no spill paint cups, perfect for my 2 year old grandson that I watch. Thanks for the great review.

  6. I love the Birch Tabletop Writing Center. We have so many markers, crayons, and so many things for my grandson and I’d love to organize them for him. He loves learning toys, videos, etc. so his momma needs to check this place out. It would be great to have those no spill paint cups since he tends to make quite the mess painting. He came home from school covered in paint from painting in his kindergarten class.

  7. I love the Complete-the-Word Phonics Magnetic Board. This would be great for my grandson trying to learn words and how to spell!

    1. I like the Complete-the-Word Phonics Magnetic Board. My grandson trying to learn how to spell, and this wuldhelp him a lot

  8. This is such great learning tools for children. I am going to have to give this website to my sister because her son is going to be getting old enough for these learning tools. Great products to teach a child!

  9. Thank you soooo much for doing this review!! I have been looking for some awesome table top organizer like the one you described above. My 5 year old really needs something like that to get him motivated and I am so going to bookmark the site so come christmas it would be a great gift. Awesome review.

  10. I just love the variety of products they have for the different age groups. I have gotten many for our 4 year old grandson

  11. It looks like they have some really amazing stuff! I’d love to watch my little guy learn with this stuff.

  12. I love the writing center. My youngest nephews (almost 6 & 8) love to draw and are always creating something so this would be great for their art supplies 🙂

  13. I think that kids learn best while enjoying the moment. This is a fun activity that is sure to be liked by kids.

  14. My daughter would have loved doing all of those things during summer break when she was a kid.

  15. We are painting rocks right now to put in our garden. One thing about rocks is you never run out of them to paint. Lil “N” is now 3 and from the time he could walk and hold a paint brush that is what he wants to do. That’s where I came up with the idea of painting rocks because using paper cost $ and kills trees and rocks don’t do either. Plus it’s fun to turn rocks into bugs lol . So when I saw the No-Spill Paint Cups I knew these were perfect for Lil “N”. I also liked the Birch Tabletop Writing Center,

  16. This company has so many carefully designed and very specific kinds of learning tools. That writing center that you have your eye on would be great for a class room as would the Store and Explore Science Cart

  17. What a really nice place to find educational toys for kids. I love that organizer it is really nice! I haven’t heard of them before, but will be happy to check out their site.

  18. I like the summer activities calendars on the Lakeshore Learning website. They also have free crafts at their stores on Saturdays!

  19. I like the Complete-the-Word Phonics Magnetic Board. I love toys and help kids learn too. We have a store that just opened in my home town.

  20. Even though I’m a high school teacher, I sometimes am still able to find some things at Lakeshore to spiff up my classroom (I’m a Spanish teacher). I love the writing center, and I’m sure my 6 year-old would love to have it, too! They have some really good items in their stores.

  21. The magnetic game would keep kids interested and learning. I like the egg shakers and have some but they aren’t as pretty as these.

  22. Wow….this looks like a great learning system. I like that it makes learning fun and engages the child in an active way.

  23. What wonderful innovative products, I really like the no-spill paint cups. I especially like your review of the Word Phonics Magnetic Board Review, I think hands-on learning instead of looking at a piece of paper is the key!
