Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder Camera Bag Review

Do you love taking photos but worry about bringing your “big camera” with you? I used to and then I was sent the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag. Camera bags aren’t all created equal as I have learned. In the past I had the Nikon bag that my husband bought me along with my camera which was square and very bulky.  Unfortunately it ended up staying home most of the time with my camera inside.

That has all changed now.  The sleek design of the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag has me toting my camera around all over the place.

First off, when you spend the money to buy a DSLR you want your investment protected. The Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder has a removable camera insert which is nicely padded to keep your camera safe.

Not only did the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder 12L bag I reviewed keep my camera (with 18-200mm lens) safe and sound but I was also able to fit a 50mm lens, my wallet, keys, phone, a point and shoot camera, water, and a snack. For a “momtog” like me this is a perfect bag for day trips, park trips, and I used it for transporting my camera during our travels this summer so I was sure to never miss a shot!

Being able to put the removable insert wherever you want inside the bag allows you to pack what you need easily.  However, taking the removable camera insert out makes the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag a comfortable day pack when you might not want to bring your big camera with you. Definitely a multi-purpose bag!

The way that it fits on your body makes the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag excellent for photo shoots. I could easily slide the bag to my back and had my arms free to shoot my very active 3 girls. Need a new lens? No problem! The way the bag is made allows you have all the items inside right at your reach. It is deep enough to hold a lot but not so deep you have to dig.  Carrying the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag all day is easy thanks to it’s lightweight, weather-resistant fabrics. 2 zippered outer pockets were nice for my little smile bribes (in our house it is Smarties) and that was where I kept my car keys. An inner zipped mesh pocket is there for your phone or whatever else you want to keep separate. The Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag also has a pocket on the outside that I used for my water bottle. That is a lot of bag!

Maybe you need more bag than the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag?  Lowepro offers a variety of backpacks, sling bags, rolling cases, and duffles.  From a mama with a camera like me to the most seasoned pros you will find what you are looking for!

The Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag retails for $74.99 and I believe it is worth every penny! Eighty MPH Mom’s readers have an opportunity to win a Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder bag. Good Luck!

  1. I’m in the process of buying another camera. So I looked up my “dream” camera in their search engine to find the bag that would be the best fit. They recommended:

    Munich 100
A streamlined and lightweight design that fits most compact camcorders and ultra-zoom cameras.

I have to say it looks like something that would be perfect for my dream camera. Thanks for the giveaway, I love finding new places to shop.

  2. I would love to have the Passport Sling II in Mica/Green. The DryZone 200 backpack would be perfect for when we go hiking or kayaking.

  3. From Lowepro I would love this camera bag, Passport Sling II
ColorBlack/Red would be perfect for my stuff…

  4. I love the shoulder bag. I’m always looking for a bag that isn’t so bulky. I usually just ended up wrapping my camera body and lenses in scarves and using a large purse, for a more stylish option.

  5. Pro Roller x200 (or any of the Pro Rollers!) – It would make for traveling with my equipment SO much easier. Unfortunately there are other necessities I have to get first, but I’m supposed to be dreamin’ right 😉

  6. For sure the Photo Sport Shoulder 18L, I’ve been looking at this for a bit now. I’m very active when I’m out taking photography and this seems like the perfect thing to move with!
