There are several times a year when I have to buy my husband a gift – Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, our anniversary, his birthday, and Christmas. But he is so hard to shop for! Every time, I think and think and think about what to get him, then I end up getting him the same thing over and over again.

With
Mantry, I can give my husband something new and exciting.
Mantry is the “modern man’s pantry.” It is a subscription service that provides six new premium food items each month, sent to you in a cool wooden crate. Each monthly crate has a theme, and the items included all complement each other.

We received the “Hecho En America II” crate. The items included are made in America, but they all have delicious Mexican-inspired flavors! The crate included the following items:
- Aurelia’s Dry-Cured Chorizo (made in Boerne, TX);
- NW Elixirs Salsa Verde (made in Portland, OR);
- Just Cook Ancho Rub (made in San Francisco, CA);
- Liber & Co. Texas Grapefruit Shrub (made in Austin, TX);
- Fiddyment Farms Chili Lime Pistachios (made in Lincoln, CA); and
- Olive & Sinclair Cinnamon Chili Bar (made in Nashville, TN).
Also included was a guide that described all of the items.

I loved how the crate included things for meals (chorizo, salsa verde, and ancho rub), things to snack on (pistachios and cinnamon chili chocolate bar), and even things to drink (grapefruit shrub). We were certainly in for a treat! One night, we enjoyed chicken with the ancho rub, along with a little grapefruit shrub and club soda (or add some alcohol for a delicious after-dinner drink). The pistachios and cinnamon chili chocolate bar are spicy, but great for a little pick-me-up snack. I added the salsa verde to my enchiladas one night, and it certainly added a little kick! Finally, I found a delicious-looking chorizo recipe to try soon.

If you are looking for a different, fun, and interesting gift for your guy (or even yourself!), consider a subscription to
Mantry crates. You can buy just one crate ($75 + $10 shipping), a three-month subscription ($225), or a six-month subscription ($450). Each month’s theme is kept secret, so you do not know what you are getting until you open it! Connect with
