PediaSwim Instructor Courses
My memory isn’t the best but I have the most vivid memory of the day I almost drowned when I was 3. We were at a summer party and there were adults everywhere around me. I could see my dad by the grill and I could see my mom talking with a group of women. I sat on the diving board of the pool with my foot gliding back and forth in the water. I don’t know what happened but suddenly I was under the water in the deep-end. I remember looking at the bubbles surrounding me and thinking how pretty they looked, I wasn’t even scared. I could see my long hair all around me as I sunk further into the water. Then I abruptly lifted up out of the water and onto the gravel outside of the pool. Apparently, while I admired the inside of the pool, unknowingly on the verge of drowning, the adults all panicked and my mom pulled me out by my hair on impulse. She still talks about how it was one of the scariest moments of her life.

Learning the perfect rotations of resting and breathing makes it much easier to transition to side-breathing with advanced strokes.
