For as long as I can remember, I have been enjoying Diet Coke with my dinner – each and every night. It might sound kind of silly, but I feel a little incomplete when I am missing my beverage of choice when I sit down to eat. Nothing else can take the place of this tasty beverage.
In addition to having a Diet Coke with dinner, I usually also sip away on a Diet Coke in the afternoon, when I am sitting out under the gazebo in our backyard. I typically either work on my blog, out in the fresh air (which is a great change of pace from sitting indoors!), or sometimes I take a “real” break and do something fun like work on my oil paintings.
On these hot Summer afternoons, nothing is better than a icy cold can of Diet Coke. The bubbles, the fizz, the flavor – it is SO refreshing. I look forward to my afternoon #DietCokeBreak each and every day!
I also have fond memories of enjoying Coca-Cola and Diet Coke as a child. I remember my mom always had one in her hand, and she loved Diet Coke because it had no calories (and still doesn’t!). This is made possible by the use of aspartame, the leading and most researched no calorie sweetener in the world!
Diet Coke is the number one diet beverage (carbonated) on the market. This doesn’t surprise me one single bit. I have tried several others, and honestly, nothing compares to the real thing. A little fun fact for you: Diet Coke was the first diet soda served in space in 1995!
I have a little secret to share with you. I prefer Diet Coke straight out of the can, and right from the refrigerator. When my family members take cans of ice cold Diet Coke out of the fridge, and don’t replace them, I become a very angry monster. It may sound silly, I know, but we all have our things, and this is a BIG one for me. I am not as fond of drinking it over ice, and it can almost ruin a day, when one of the things I look forward to most (my Diet Coke Break), isn’t possible. HMPH.
Do you enjoy Diet Coke as much as me? When/where do you take your #DietCokeBreak?
*I received promotional products from Coca-Cola to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

What is with people not replacing those cans? The nerve!!!! We certainly do share this love for Diet Coke, my friend!!!! (Except for I like it room temp from bottles the best.)
I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so I have a Diet Coke break when I get settled at my desk at work. I sip on it until lunch and I really miss it if I forget to replenish the stash of cans and 16 oz bottles I keep under my desk!
