So, I’m betting that you’ve all heard the news by now…
Duchess Catherine has finally given birth to a handsome baby boy! At of 4:24pm (London time) Kate and, husband, Prince William – along with the rest of the world – welcomed a new little 8lb 6oz prince.
My personal news feed, email inbox, and even the local television stations have been buzzing all day with news of the royal family’s newest addition. Now, as exciting as the birth of a new baby is, I’ve been cringing when seeing the hordes of paparazzi, journalists, and cameras awaiting the new mom and baby’s release from St. Mary’s Hospital. Could you imagine the pressure?! I remember when our first little “prince” was born. I barely wanted the nurse’s in my room let alone any visitors and certainly would not have welcomed any strangers. Kate & William, though, I’m sure, have gotten accustomed to the flashbulbs and crowds.
We are definitely wishing the new parents all of the best and sending them huge congratulations on their bundle of joy. I’ll admit that I was secretly hoping for their little one to be a girl so that we could imagine her life as a true Disney fairy tale, but I think that a little boy is perfectly fitting for the happy couple.
Any guesses on what the new prince’s name will be? Coming from the royal family, I think that it’s fair to say we won’t be expecting any surprise names like North West, Rainbow Aurora, or Pilot Inspektor. Then again, Jermajesty could be a good fit… kidding, kidding! I’m betting that the elegant couple will choose a more classic name for the new heir to the throne (he’s third in line to become king!). Perhaps George, Alexander, or James would be good moniker for the little lad? Regardless, this new prince certainly has the whole world rooting for him and I, for one, cannot wait to see what his future holds. Royalty or not, every baby is precious and I’m hoping for an incredibly bright future to be ahead of this new little one.
