How many of you have kids that like superheroes? What about dinosaurs? Now, I don’t know about you but, in our house, they’re both a highly frequented topic. If it has a cape or some big, sharp teeth, my kiddos are into it. Of course, they’re quite fond of all of the favorites – t-rex, Superman, velociraptors a la Jurassic Park style, Batman, etc. – and then some. One thing they’re not too thrilled about… sitting… at all. The phrase “boys will be boys” is right on point when it comes to our little ones and, more often than not, I kind of like it that way. After all, we all need some excitement in our lives and little boys are sure to provide that. On the other hand however, a little bit of down time is always a good thing as well. When I can convince them of it, coloring and doodling are their go-to activities. That being said, they’ve never been all too impressed with the cliché coloring books. Favorite characters come and go so few books actually hold their attention for more than a few uses. That is until now, anyway.
Parragon is the largest illustrated non-fiction book publisher in the world and this wonderful company offers a unique variety of books boasting a rather superb collection of titles for children that include many favorites such as Disney, Discovery Kids, Marvel, Barbie, Sesame Street, and many more. The newest addition to their already spectacular line of children’s products is the (practically perfect) launch of the Dino Supersaurus set.
In the simplest terms, it is dinosaurs plus superheroes or superhero dinos. Really now, could it get any better?
Once upon a time, in the super, duper land of New Dino City, there was a team of bad guys that set forth a destructive plan to wreak havoc on the residents there. These evil and sinister “Sinistaurs” (clever name, eh?) meant trouble and, just as every good superhero story goes, there was only one thing that stood between these antagonists and their dirty deed – the good guys!
Meet the Supersaurs!
With this collection of books, you’ll journey through New Dino City alongside the incredible team of Supersaurs – Trix, Doc, Terra, and Steg – as they take on the Sinistaurs in their quest to save the city. And, better yet, you get to help them!
The Dino Supersaurus by Parragon is not your usual set of books. This collection allows you and your little ones to join the team and take on those evil dinos. Through these four books, you can color, scribble, sticker, sketch, doodle, draw, and scrawl your way to victory right alongside your favorite Supersaurs. As you get further into each book, the storyline grows with you at its roots. And, with the inclusion of fun bonus finds such as inventive puzzles, complete-a-pictures, a fun flip book, dino erasers, stretchy character figurines, and more, the amount of fun to be had is quite limitless. We recently had the opportunity to try out all four titles:
- Dino Supersaurus: 2000 Stickers
- Dino Supersaurus: Superpower Coloring
- Dino Supersaurus: Scribblasaurus Book
- Dino Supersaurus: Stickersaurus
When you cross superheroes and dinosaurs, there is no wrong. The capes, the idea of good guys versus bad guys, the victorious conclusion, the big teeth, the super powers, all of it; it is ideal for just about any child. The way that it simply lets their imaginations soar (or roar!) is reason enough to dive on in.
In this day and age, most kids are entertained with screen time – video games, television, movies, tablets, handheld devices, etc. – but I think that it’s about time we get back to the basics… with a little twist. The Dino Supersaurus by Parragon collection allows children to do exactly that. So, go grab your coolest cape, tie it on, and practice your loudest roar. Go on an adventure with Dino Supersaurus and let your imaginations run wild. Despite the fact that this collection is more so geared toward children aged 6 through 12, our younger children thoroughly enjoyed it. Trust me, you’ll and your children will have a super, dino-riffic good time!
