For those of you that are regular readers, you’ll know that last year was more or less the year of Peppa Pig here at Eighty MPH Mom. Now, with our contributor Angela and her family soon heading to the upcoming Peppa Pig’s Big Splash live show, we are thrilled to kick off another year filled with plenty of piggy fun.
For anyone that isn’t familiar with Peppa Pig, it is an adorable children’s show that focuses on the young daughter of a little (big) pig family. She, her parents, her younger brother, and her friends are always up to some sort of adventure that is sure to always end with huge smiles on the faces of, both, the characters and the viewers alike.
Peppa is a lovable, exuberant little piggy who lives with her little brother George, Mommy Pig, and Daddy Pig. Peppa’s favorite things include playing games, dressing up, days out, and jumping in muddy puddles. Her adventures always end happily with loud snorts of laughter.
As a little piggy, it’s no secret that Peppa and her family absolutely love all of the oink-tastic fun that that goes along with putting on your favorite boots and heading out to jump in muddy puddles. Unfortunately, when Mrs. Duck takes a liking to Peppa’s glimmering Golden Boots, chaos ensues. You see, much like the springtime days when the otherwise cute ducks decide to steal your picnic lunch and run off (yes, that’s happened to me), Mrs. Duck takes off… with Peppa’s boots!
Now on an adventure to reclaim her precious golden boots, Peppa Pig sets out on a trip that takes her far and wide.
In “The Golden Boots.” Mrs. Duck takes a liking to Peppa’s favorite Golden Boots and runs away with them! With the help of her friends, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, George, and Grampy Rabbit, Peppa must travel across land, sea, and even into space to track down the Golden Boots before the big Puddle Jump competition!
We wouldn’t want our favorite piggy pal to miss out on the chance to compete in what is sure to be the epitome of all puddle jumping adventures so be sure to tune in for this very special “peppasode!”
This Sunday, March 6th, we can all join Peppa Pig for “Super Fan Sunday” and enjoy back-to-back episodes that are sure to be full of out-of-this-world escapades and gallons of muddy puddle fun. Starting at 11 a.m. ET on Nick Jr., the day-long adventure leads up to the premiere debut of Peppa Pig The Golden Boots at 6 p.m. ET.
To coincide with the all-day adventure, the Peppa Pig’s Golden Boots app (available on iOS and Android devices) launches on Sunday and is sure to provide endless amounts of entertainment just in time for the premiere.
Inspired by Peppa Pig’s “The Golden Boots” special episode, the new app lets young players join Peppa on a day of exciting adventures to help her find her missing golden boots! The brand-new app from Entertainment One and produced by Kids Industries, features six engaging games that give preschoolers the chance to interactively explore the wonderful world of Peppa Pig with familiar locations and immersive activities.
The app includes a number of exciting mini games and activities such as the following:
- Dress Up Peppa – design Peppa’s brand new rain boots!
- Muddy Puddle – users can draw and write in the mud just like Peppa!
- Space Adventures – blast off on a rocket ship for some out-of-this-world fun!
- Miss Rabbit’s Gift Shop – make a special visit to see Rebecca Rabbit’s mom!
- Feed the Ducks – chop up and serve some delicious food for the Duck family!
- Muddy Puddles Song – sing along with everyone’s favorite piggy pal!
Continuing the adventure, the folks behind the Peppa Pig brand are kicking off an exciting Facebook photo contest on Monday, March 7th. Be sure to keep an eye on the official Peppa Pig Facebook page as well as their website so that you can try your hand at winning an oink-tastic prize pack!
On top of all of the incredible fun that is “Super Fan Sunday,” you can now bring your very own Peppa Pig adventures home with you! Following the excitement of this weekend, The Golden Boots DVD officially hits store shelves on Tuesday, March 8th!
