DIY project: The perfect makeup storage solution

If you are like me, you have hundreds {or maybe even thousands} of containers of makeup. Some are newer and used daily, and some you only use sometimes. For the latter, it is hard to dispose of them, as you never know when you might need that certain color. I have found the perfect makeup storage solution. It has made my life so much easier, and has saved me so much time. No more rummaging around in bins and drawers, trying to find a particular cosmetic. Dare I say that it has even allowed me to be on time to events? Yep!

I love using hanging shoe organizers, but oddly enough, I don’t use them for shoes!

We have a guest bathroom upstairs, that pretty much is only used by me. The lighting is better in there, and it has a window seat which I love. The nice part of this setup is that if we do have guests that will be using this bathroom, I can simply remove it from the two tiny nails, and put it back when the guests leave.

Cut organizer to size:

It all depends on how much stuff you want to store, and how you want them labeled as to how many pockets you choose to have.

Add labels:

I made simple labels on my computer, including Eye shadows/liners, Foundations, Fragrances, etc.

Create and print out the labels you need, and glue them at the top of the pockets. You can even use a label maker if desired.

If you’re so inspired, you can even add some color for a “pop”, using scrapbook paper. I chose a design that matches my bathroom paint color, but you could use scrapbook paper in any color or design of your choosing, even to make it match existing decor! Just measure the pockets and cut the scrapbook paper to size, then slide in!

Fill pockets with your makeup, toiletries, fragrances, nail products – whatever you like! It makes it so easy to be able to see exactly what is in each pouch (and another good reason to buy clear pockets).
