Did you know that National Medicines Take Back Day is April 26, 2014? I honestly had no idea, but now that I have learned more about it, I want to share some very important information with you!

Did you know that daily, over 100 people die because of a prescription drug overdose? (according to the Centers for Disease Control – CDC). The CDC has estimated that a staggering number of children (more than 70,000) are rushed to hospital emergency rooms each year because they have overdosed or are the victims of accidental medicine poisoning. This is incredibly sobering…and very, very sad.

Between my husband and myself, we take a variety of medications. It is amazing how fast medications can accumulate at home, especially when a doctor decides to try new medications and you end up with a variety of expired or no longer needed pills.

This is especially worrisome when there are small children in the house. As we all know, all medications should be locked up so little hands cannot find them. It is hard enough to find just the right place for current medication, not to mention old ones!

A pretty amazing solution has been developed and I am really excited to share this with you. Pill Terminator makes it easy to destroy all of those old pills at home. Sure, there are disposal sites where you can turn your items in, but that can be a pain, especially if you have to drive any distance. Some people flush their pills, but that is a really, really bad idea. It is horrible for the environment, wildlife, etc. (so pretty please, don’t do that!).

Well, it is very simple, and only takes a few minutes. You just follow three easy steps!

  1. Pour in the medications and then add warm water
  2. Shake
  3. Throw the container into a trash can

[pullquote]Pill Terminator is only about the size of can of soft drink but it eliminates up to 300 medium sized pills or equivalent – pills, capsules, liquids and powders.[/pullquote]

Pill Terminator is the safe way of discarding prescription medications, and has been “specially formulated to meet and exceed FDA and EPA guidelines for disposal of prescription medication”.

If you would like to try for yourself, I have a Pill Terminator discount code for you! Just use code “March” and you will receive a 15% discount! And don’t forget that shipping is always free!

Please don’t forget about National Medicines Take Back Day, and the importance of discarding old and unwanted medicines. There will be several ways of getting those old pills and other medicines out of your house. Your local police department most likely offers this service (I would call first to check), and of course, you can try Pill Terminator to make this task even easier.

  1. Take your unused or expired medicines to your local pharmacy where they will be disposed of properly as bio waste.

  2. I agree, it is sad to see so many children affected by medications like this. I think Pill Terminator is an effective way to get rid of unwanted and unused medications. #Client
