It is an unfortunate reality of the world we live in that extinction rates of animals is at an all-time high.  Due to loss of habitat, natural causes, pollution, among other reasons, the animals we all know and love are becoming endangered and ultimately extinct.  This is something that is unfortunate, but can also be a teaching opportunity for us as parents.

Pop Out Pets offers a way to teach children about the animals around us, as well as provide an opportunity to help conservation efforts.  Created by a single mother, she had in mind a way to bring about change in our world as well as educate children on what they can do to help.

Pop Out Pets offers four different stuffed animal groups.  Each group is either a 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 stuffed animal that can easily transform into 3 or 4 different animals.  The animal that begins as a frog can change into a macaw with your child’s help.  Additionally, a percentage of sale profits from each Pop Out Pets animal group is donated to charities whose work supports their protection and survival.

My seven year old was able to try out the Sea Life Savers Pop Out Pets.  This animal group contains a dolphin, sea turtle, and walrus and support charities focused on using film, photography and media to educate and inspire people to save the oceans.  My little one quickly got the hang of changing from one animal to another and had a blast hiding her Pop Out Pet and bringing out a “different” animal.  She has since decided it’s her new favorite animal to sleep with.

The other three animal groups offered by Pop Out Pets are the Jungle Life Defenders that support charities that work to understand climate change, prevent deforestation, and rebuild habitats; the Wild Life Rescuers that support charities whose mission is to protect threatened and endangered wildlife from becoming extinct, and to stop illegal wildlife trade; and the Farm Life Protectors that support charities that are increasing public awareness about the food we eat (factory farming), and how to engage in sustainable farming.

Pop Out Pets are a fun, and very adorable, way of teaching our children that they can make a difference in the world around them.  Their ability to change their Pop Out Pets also shows them that they have the ability to make change happen.  We need to empower our children to help make a difference in the world around them and to help protect the precious animals we live with.  After all, the world we leave behind is the world our children will inherit.

  1. I would most like to donate to Michigan Wildlife Conservancy. They are working hard to help the critters living in Michigan’s wild.

  2. I’d support charities to save the whales and stop whale hunting and save the elephants and stop the sale of ivory. It is mind blowing to me that in this day and age people still kill these animals that are to me at least majestic.

  3. I’d donate to charities that provide the means for pet owner to get their pets spayed/neutered or the means to get reduced cost vet checkups.

  4. I’d like to donate to Farm Life because it’s so important that we be able to grow our own food and that we are doing that in a safe way.

  5. I would donate to the Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter in Kansas City, Missouri because they are always in need of extra food, blankets, & other supplies.

    Thanks.

  6. I would donate to World Wildlife Fund to help support the wonderful work they do. Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. The world wildlife fund is the only one I know of, and I love that you can choose to support a specific type of animal.

  8. I’d like to donate to the zoo because they rescue hurt animals who would not make it in the wild without their intervention.

  9. I would donate to organizations that protect endangered species and also rescue organizations that save dogs and cats.
