Learning Can be Fun with Popar Toys Interactive Charts

Disclosure review
I have always loved social studies and all of the different areas contained in that subject – history, geography, American government, etc.  My husband is also a social studies fanatic and in fact, one of his teaching endorsements is in social studies.  With parents like this, my girls are sure to love learning about social studies as well.  And we have gotten them started on their learning with the help of Popar Toys!

Popar Toys makes interactive books, charts, and puzzles that offer a fun and educational experience for children.  We received the U.S.A. Capitals & Presidents Interactive 3D Chart and the World Map: Wonders & Landmarks 3D Interactive Chart.

usmap2
The U.S.A. Capitals & Presidents Interactive 3D Chart is a map of all fifty states, with pictures of each state flag and each state capital marked.  Around the edge of the map are pictures of all of the U.S. Presidents, their party affiliation, their years of service, and a quote from each.  There is also a listing of the dates of important events in U.S. history, starting with the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  My daughter had a fun time looking at this map and learning where we live and where some of our family members live.

worldmap2
The World Map: Wonders & Landmarks 3D Interactive Chart is a fun and colorful world map with a lot of neat illustrations including important landmarks and animals native to each continent.  It also has a legend to identify the special wonders of the world – modern man-made wonders, ancient man-made wonders, and natural wonders.  My daughter loved looking at the different pictures of animals and pointing out the places we have been in North America or the things we have seen.

You may be wondering how “interactive” these paper charts can actually be.  Well, there are free apps available for each chart.  The apps are available in both the App Store and Google Play for newer Apple and Android devices with rear-facing cameras.  The apps can be downloaded and used without having the charts, but you must have both the chart and the app to use the “Augmented Reality” features from the app.

usapp
There are two basic interactive features of the app used with the U.S.A. Capitals & Presidents Interactive 3D Chart.  First, you can select a president to get some fun facts and stats about the president.  You can also learn more about certain objects associated with each president.  I loved this feature of the app and actually learned a lot about the presidents that I didn’t already know!  Second, you can select a state and learn more about that state, including fun facts and stats, state flags, state birds, and state flowers.  There are also videos available for download on each state.

worldapp
As for using the app with the World Map: Wonders & Landmarks 3D Interactive Chart, all you have to do is aim your device at one of the landmarks or animals featured on the chart to select it.  It then brings up additional information about that landmark or animal.  This is another fun way to learn more about places and animals throughout the world!

The U.S.A. Capitals & Presidents Interactive 3D Chart and World Map: Wonders & Landmarks 3D Interactive Chart sell for $29.95 each, but Popar Toys is currently offering both charts in a 2-in-1 chart package for $29.95!  You can purchase these charts and other fun and educational interactive products from Popar Toys online.

  1. This is great I wish I had had it when my kids were younger. Sadly Geography is not taught any more my daughter is in the 9th grade and still does not know all the states.

  2. I think the videos available for download on each state with the World Map Chart is interesting!

  3. I like how the world map includes wonders of the world; would be a neat learning tool for my daughter. She would like that there’s apps that go with it.

  4. I like that the The World Map: Wonders & Landmarks 3D Interactive Chart details animals native to that continent, my kids would love that.

  5. I think my favorite feature is that you can select a state and learn more about that state! Very cool!

  6. I love the “augmented reality” you get with the apps. In all honesty, I don’t think my kids would really dig playing with a plain old paper map — too “schooly” — but add an iPhone app? They’d be on it like white on rice and not even notice that they were learning geography.

  7. I like that they can learn more about the animals on the world map…my son loves animals and this may connect him with the geography.

  8. As a child, I would have loved this toy! I think one of the coolest features is the ability to see the different objects associated with different presidents. How cool is that?! 🙂

  9. One of the interesting features on the 3D map is how they show you about where things are like Hollywood etc. I think I would also like this! I am not good at Geography so this could help!

    These look sooo cool!

  11. I would have LOVED having something like this as a kid. I think it’s so awesome that you can use an app to bring up additional information. It seems like a great activity for children and parents to do together as well!

  12. I like the fact that all the presidents are listed. My grandson would have fun with all the interactive features.

  13. I think the most interesting-looking feature is the illustrations of animals native to each continent.
