Doing Laundry

What this post will cover:

  • Brands of non-toxic laundry detergents
  • Sheets vs. liquid vs. powder detergent
  • Toxic vs. non-toxic detergent

My Green Fills

We have been using My Green Fills for about two years now. The smell is intoxicating. It is made with essential oils which is why it smells so good. As far as the cleaning factor, it gets out poop stains from a 1 year old…so it has my vote! They provide a bottle on your first purchase and after that they send you refills to make the liquid in the bottle each time. We love it!

Tru Earth

The name says it all. This one is on my list to try next because of all the wonderful reviews of the product and you can order on Amazon, which is even better! Its a great product if you are looking for less toxic chemicals in your home. You can find all their lovely scents here and if you want to learn more about their benefits like using less water and having non-toxic chemicals you can read about that here

Purex 3-in-1

A few months ago, I wrote a Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets review.  I absolutely love these!  They make doing laundry a breeze, as everything you need is right in one sheet!  I no longer have multiple bottles cluttering my laundry room (or on top of my washer!).

Sheets vs. liquid vs. powder detergent

This all comes down to preference, affordability, accessibility and the success of the product. However, if you are turning green and want to help the environment, Tru Earth is your best best. It uses less water and no need for any plastic containers!

All of them will work, they all clean clothes efficiently. Just do your due diligence and support the products you believe in.

Toxic vs. Non-Toxic Detergent

I refer to this organization a lot but the Environmental Working Group has a database where you can search ingredients or product names and it will rate them based on their scale. It will tell you if its toxic or safe to use in your home.
