Remember these things when you feel close to rock bottom

Remember This If You Feel As If You're Close To Rock Bottom

Life doesn’t go to plan all the time. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the lows build-up and you feel as if you’re about to hit rock bottom. And, this makes the emotions feel more intense because there is a stigma attached with feeling low. Of course, it’s tough to listen to advice when you’re in the moment, as nothing is particularly helpful. Thankfully, there is another option to remember. Recalling helpful tips is often the difference between seeing the light and spiraling out of control.

With that in mind, here are the things that might help you get through tough times.

The only way is up

It’s cliched, but the only way is up once you are near rock bottom. It isn’t much comfort in the beginning, yet it starts to make sense later on when you’ve processed everything. The moves you take will make you feel better about yourself, even if they are seemingly small and insignificant. Sometimes, the little stuff has the biggest impact in the long-term. However, this isn’t to say that you are guaranteed to bounce back. It is essential to work hard at your life and mental health because nothing is for sure in life.

There are plenty of options

One of the issues with feeling depressed and suffocated is that it seems as if there is nowhere to turn. But, you should never forget that there are lots of options on the table as long as you look in the right places. Confiding in friends and family is an excellent solution because it’s cathartic to get your emotions off your chest. Or, if you require specialist assistance, an inpatient addiction treatment center is accessible. It’s tough to admit that you need the latter, but once you do, your life will transform for the better.

It’s a chance to purge
The journey from the bottom back to the top is rough, and you will need to make significant decisions. Something essential that you’ll realize quite quickly is the need to eliminate any toxicity in your life. Whether it’s work or “friends,” they will only hold you back from making a full recovery. Instead of seeing it as a bad thing, you can view it as a positive aspect of your journey. After you purge the stuff that is unhealthy, you’ll be left with features that only make you happy. And, there is nothing more enjoyable in life than being truly content.

You can try new things

Why not? After all, it’s not as if you will feel intimidated or scared. Once you have dealt with nearing rock bottom, the idea of trying a dance class or learning a new language is child’s play. The incredible thing about this mentality is that it encourages you to get out of your comfort zone, and that can be fun. It isn’t rare for your new life to be more rounded and enjoyable than the previous one.

Why wouldn’t it when you constantly try new things and only include people in your life that make you happy?
