Rita Hazan Root Concealer
My gray hair problem started shortly after I had my son. Prior to that I had a beautiful head of light brown hair. When I noticed the first dreaded wire-like gray strand, I gasped and thought to myself, “No way, this CANNOT be happening to me!”. Well unfortunately there is no way to turn back time and getting gray hairs is part of the getting older process. I don’t like it one bit, but what can I do?
I started having my hair colored almost immediately, as I don’t want to look “older” until I really have to. Coloring hair requires quite a bit of upkeep, and is very costly too, but to me it is worth it. Sometimes though, I wait a little too long in between coloring and the grays rear their ugly heads (roots?), especially around my ears and forehead. Blech. It can be embarrassing while I am waiting anxiously for my appointment.
I recently tried a temporary crayon type “goo” product to cover the grays but it was horrible. It was so sticky that it actually made my hair clump and I couldn’t even run my fingers through it. I hadn’t tried anything else to cover gray hairs in between coloring since that product, until I heard about Rita Hazan Root Concealer.
I was sent two cans of Rita Hazan Root Concealer (chosen by their specialists!) – a light brown and a blonde color. I was surprised how perfectly the colors matched my hair. I sent a picture of my hair before the product was delivered to me, so that they could choose the right colors for me. I have brown hair with blond highlights.
I decided to try it on my hairline above my ear – this is where I have the most gray hair:

It was really easy to use, which made me happy. The directions say to shake the can before spraying and hold 4-6 inches away from hair. The spray comes out in a fine mist and quickly covers the grays. I would recommend using a small towel or rag to hold up to your face before spraying. I failed to do this the first time and my hand was colored too (but washed off easily, so it was no big deal).

The color stays in (and covers the gray) until it is shampooed out. What I really like is that it dries really quickly, AND I can run my fingers through my hair. It would be hard for anyone to tell that I actually used a spray on product to cover my gray hairs.
Rita Hazan Root Concealer is currently available in five different shades – something for every hair color. The color is temporary, resistant to water and perspiration but can be easily washed out with shampoo. Can be used anytime and anywhere, and does not contain any dye (I like this fact!).
Rita Hazan Root Concealer is a product that I will definitely have on hand at all times – there are always a few days of gray (at least) between colorings and now I don’t need to fret about those days any longer. . Yep – this can be purchased at one of my favorite stores!
You can connect with Rita Hazan on Facebook and Twitter to learn more and to take advantage of special offers.

That sounds like an amazing product! I never thought to try to cover my greys in between coloring either. I’ll have to grab some of this 🙂
You should – it’s awesome!
Well, that is handy!! It works really well too, judging by your pictures!
That’s a great way to cover greys! I don’t have many greys to take care of now, but I would hate to go into the salon or do any sort of home color before I absolutely need to.
This is a great fix, especially if you have an occasion or need to be somewhere that you know photos will be taken 🙂
Exactly! I always want to have this on hand, for those pesky grays, no matter where I am!
That looks like it would be very easy to use, and does make your hair look like it was naturally that color.
I wonder how well it works on dark hair. I have more gray hair than brown now, and those roots really show up.
Looks good!
Oh wow, that did really work! I love seeing the before/after.
My grays are starting to come out…I should give this product a try!
This sounds interesting. I have the same graying problem and a quick fix like this would be perfect. thanks for sharing.
Wow, what a difference!
Pretty cool, but I actually LOVE my gray!
Oh wow, this is such an interesting product. I wonder if it would work on roots as well?! What do you think. Would it be too light of coverage for roots that are showing from highlights?
It’s really hard to say. I didn’t use mine to cover roots from highlighted hair, but to cover my gray roots that were showing. My hair is brown with blond highlights, and since the gray/highlights had grown out so much, it covered them really well.
