Chalk City

Our kids spend no less than an hour outdoors each day that we can. Of course it rains and storms but I think that children sleep and eat better when they are active. We ride bikes, play tag, swing on our little playground, and play hopscotch. Chalk is a necessity and we never run out of it. Are you that type of family too? I knew before I had seen the Chalk City product, that it would be a go-to outdoor toy at our house. We were sent the Road Maker which is a tool that easily and quickly makes roads for your obstacle course (which we did first) or racetrack. You can create an entire city in just a few minutes with the Chalk City Road Maker and it is easy enough that your children can make their own. It worked well and folds up to put back in the bag for storage. My girls will be making a lot of roads with this!

I chose to make an obstacle course first to wear them out. They were off school that day and were starting to fight in the afternoon while our baby was sleeping. Out came the Chalk City supplies and moods were starting to be more cheery. I made a nice big course so that they would bump into each other and I started them at different areas.

The Obstacle Course Stencils provide them with chalk pictures of what to do. It was easy to trace and color in and they loved helping me pick which activity to do and then help me color it in.

They spun around, did jumping jacks, and hopped their way through the course for the next 45 minutes. Their laughter was music to this mama’s ears. Not to mention they were worn out and hungry! They ate all their supper that night and when I told them it was bed time didn’t fight too badly. Let’s face it there is always a fight but they slept soundly.

We have plenty of room to make it nice and big at our house and that is exactly what we did. The rain had erased our obstacle course so the next time out we used the Road Sign Stencils.
