Rock-A-Bums 5-in-1 Cloth Diaper Review

Rock-A-Bums 5-in-1 Cloth Diaper Review

Like many cloth diapering mommas, I believe there is no such thing as “too many” when it comes to our cloth diaper stash. That’s just crazy talk. So I was delighted when I got a Rock-A-Bums diaper in the mail!

Rock-A-Bums 5-in-1 Cloth Diaper Review

5-in-1 System

You may be wondering what a 5-in-1 system is {it’s okay, I was clueless, too}. The 5-in-1 diaper allows complete freedom in its use. It does everything you would want a diaper to do – except for self-cleaning.

All In One – Snap the insert to the cover, pull the insert up, and secure the cover. There’s no need to unsnap the insert while washing or drying. For extra absorbency, snap another insert to the cover.

All In Two – Lay the insert into the cover, pull the insert up, and the cover up. Fasten the cover so it is nice and snug. If the cover isn’t soiled – no need to wash. Rotate among two to three covers a day, simply replacing inserts at each diaper change.

Pocket Diaper – Stuff one insert into the generously sized opening in the back. Grab the insert from the front of the diaper and adjust it, ensuring the insert is laying flat. Pull the cover up onto your baby and snap as you would. If you want extra absorbency, simply add another insert! When soiled, there’s no need to pull the inserts out, because of the second opening they will work their way out in the wash. Brilliant!

Hybrid Insert – Lay a hybrid insert into diaper, pull up insert, and fasten diaper. OR you can stuff the disposable insert into the cover itself. Either way works if you use hybrid inserts. Once soiled, dispose of the insert and put the cover in your wetbag.

Bomb Shell Cover – Use it with the Rock-A-Bums inserts, a fitted diaper in your stash, or you can even use it as a stylish {and blowout preventing} cover for a disposable diaper.

Features I love:
* Wide crotch for Bugsy’s comfort.
* Extra layer of PUL for tummy sleepers. No matter how much I move him, when he naps during the day he always ends up on his belly! The added PUL layer helps combat leaks.
* Snug side single gussets and back elastic for minimizing blow outs.
* The pocket holes are wide. I pre-stuff our diapers as I put them away. One thing that drives me crazy is getting my hand stuck in the diaper. *chuckle* With the Rock-A-Bums diapers, stuffing diapers is a breeze.
* This diaper will fit Bugsy until he is potty trained! It’s a one size diaper, fitting 8-35 lbs, thanks to the snap down sizing.

Rock-A-Bums 5-in-1 Cloth Diaper Review

Taking care of this diaper system is ridiculously simple, too.

1. Shake, Rattle, and Roll the solids into the toilet!

2. Store dirties in the wetbag.

3. Wash on HOT with 1/4 amt of cloth friendly detergent.

4. Wash a second time on HOT, no detergent.

5. Air or tumble dry medium heat. Rock and Roll!!

Buy:

You can add some rockin’ diapers to your stash and pick up Rock-A-Bums online. The 5-in-1 Diaper is available in white, black, and red {by the way, I like their idea gender neutral colors!} equipped with your choice of Snaps or Velcro. Some cool prints will be available soon, too! The 5-in-1 cloth diaper is priced at $16.95 {includes two washable inserts}. A pack of five washable inserts will run you $24.95.

Wow! That diaper has so many options! Sounds like a great diaper for someone new to cloth who isn’t sure what type of diaper they would like…or for the family that has dad liking one style and mom liking another. 🙂

This would have come in handy when my sons were babies! My complaint was that cloth diapers did not always have a good hold, this would have fixed our problem.

A new baby will be joining our extended family in a couple of weeks, but I’m not sure if the mother is planning to use cloth diapers. Your review makes me think these would be pretty simple to use. I’d love to get her some as a gift–even if she doesn’t cloth-diaper all of the time, they’d be handy to have on hand. Thanks for the review.
