Soniclean VTplus S-200 Vacuum Review

We are a really busy family. There are four of us and it seems that someone is always traipsing in and out the front door and back sliding doors. Not only do they track in the usual outdoor things, like leaves and grass, but they also bring in these little “seeds” from our huge Redwood tree. They are everywhere this time of year and I keep finding them in the house.

I was really excited when I learned that I would be receiving a Soniclean VTplus Upright vacuum cleaner for review*! We have been through so many vacuums over the years (and a few that I got frustrated with ended up in the backyard for my husband to fix – family joke there), so in this household, we require a complete powerhouse of a vacuum to take care of our messes.

First off, I just have to say how simple it was to assemble the Soniclean vacuum. I simply connected the handle with the body and voila! Easy assembly is always a must for me, as I tend to be a little impatient. I was anxious to give her a run immediately, and when I unwrapped the cord I was so happy to see how long it was (35 feet to be exact!). I don’t know about you but when I am on a cleaning spree and want to just zip around the house and vacuum, I do not want to be bothered with having to unplug and replug the vacuum for every room I enter.

According to their website, the Soniclean features 200 sonic vibrations per second which loosens ground-in dirt and dust. Boy, they aren’t kidding! With four indoor cats (two of which are VERY busy kittens!), there are plenty of microscopic particles hidden everywhere in our rugs. When I am vacuuming with the Soniclean VTplus, I can see these little things shaking around and coming up to the surface. I shudder to think how many of these particles were left behind with other vacuum cleaners!

Something else that I really love is how lightweight the Soniclean vacuum is (10.5 lbs). This is VERY important to me, as I had neck surgery in June and I have to be very careful with how much I left and bend. This leads me to my next point – I don’t even have to bend over with this vacuum. This is the first vacuum I have ever owned that has all of the buttons right at the top! Right on the handle, I can turn it on, and choose either carpet or floors with just one push!  Although the words in the photo below look upside down, they are right side up when vacuuming and looking down at them.

And the lever to adjust the angle of the vacuum is on the RIGHT side of the vacuum. Since I use my right hand and foot for everything, this just makes perfect sense. No more wasted time fumbling around trying to find the switches, and in my case leaning over any more than absolutely necessary! I like this!

Another really cool feature is the Sophisticated jam sensor technology which automatically shuts off the vacuum if it senses a jam. As I mentioned above, we have two kittens, which means that we have an abundance of tiny mice and toys everywhere. It is nice to know that if I accidentally start to suck one up, I don’t have to worry. The same can be said for socks that seem to appear out of nowhere.

I have a feeling this vacuum is going to be a big part of our lives for a long time to come. It is well-made and definitely gets the job done, with minimal effort on my part. Eighty MPH Mom gives the Soniclean VTplus Vacuum a great big thumbs up!
