When I was offered the opportunity to spread the word about Stop H*Commerce from McAfee, I jumped at the chance. My husband and I have been victims of identity theft before (not online – yet!), but it was so upsetting and aggravating. Let me preface this review by telling you that we use McAfee and ONLY McAfee to protect all of the computers in our house. I am a huge fan – and yes this is my opinion, but I have tried other security programs and they just don’t match up. They are either not user-friendly, or they seriously slow down my computer.
The people at McAfee have created a series that focuses on informing and educating consumers about “H*COMMERCE” (which is their term for “hacking”). With so many online purchases being made around this time of year, it’s an incredibly helpful resource for making sure you know what the dangers are and how to protect yourself. This is a wonderful idea, and I am so happy they are helping consumers in a time when hacking is especially prolific.
Protect yourself! Please make sure you check out the McAfee Stop H*Commerce Resource Center to learn more about protecting your personal information, your finances, and more. There is a place where you can watch videos of the hacking experiences others have had, and you can also tell your story too (although I hope you don’t have one!).
McAfee is also offering their free download of their SiteAdvisor software – an incredibly helpful tool. I love this feature as part of my McAfee anti virus protection – it tells me which sites are safe to view and which to avoid. I highly recommend this tool.
