I love adding to our collection of games, especially educational games for kids! Luv gets so excited when a new game arrives. Super Duper Publications is home to a plethora of fun learning games for your child{ren} or students! This time we were happy to check out the MagneTalk Match-up Adventures Kit with barrier and the Pirate Talk board game.
MagneTalk Match-up Adventures Kit
This kit is grand in so many ways, my description will hardly do it justice. It targets so many essential skills. Kids can explore the scenes included and have fun camping in the forest, going on a picnic, journeying to outer space, swimming in the ocean, and shopping at the grocery store – all while honing their listening and language skills. With the barrier the scenes are propped up, which is so helpful!
This kit targets:
* Following directions
* Deductive reasoning
* Giving directions
* Vocabulary
* Auditory memory
* Storytelling
* Basic concepts
* Categorization
* Rhyming
* Listening
The MagneTalk Match-up Adventures Kit includes:
10 game boards {two of each scene}, 2-sided magnetic dry erase tabletop easel, 10 magnets for each game board, a 34-page reproducible activity book with a CD-ROM (that includes a French translation) for easy printing, and a dry erase marker.
Luv’s thoughts
I love this! I have fun putting everything on the board. I like the camping scene the best. I like to go camping, too. I pretend that the fish is swimming in the creek. I want [Bugsy] to play this with me all the time.
Speaking of Bugsy, I did notice while setting up the tabletop easel/barrier three of the tiny grip “feet” had fallen out. Thankfully, I found them before Bugsy did. But it is something to be mindful of if you have curious babes who like to eat everything they find. *wink*
Pirate Talk
Avast me hearties! *ahem* Sorry. This is a game that I just knew we’d have a blast with! No, talking like a pirate is not required during game play, but it is still fun. With Pirate Talk, children take turns responding to a prompt, sailing around the board collecting gold coins along the way. The prompts work on seven different communication skills; sentence repetition, inferencing, answering questions, following directions, describing, categorizing, all while boosting their social skills. The color coded prompt cards are broken down into five categories; School, People, Home, Community, and Activities.
Luv’s thoughts
It’s cool! There’s a lot of different people [pirates] to play. I liked answering the questions and getting the coins the best. I love it! I want to play it some more.
