Now that this year’s 4th of July celebratios have come and gone, what’s next? For many, it’s now that thoughts of back-to-school time slowing start creeping in. Summertime is amazing in just about every way possible but it is a common known fact that children do lose a good portion of their education over the break. Thankfully, we’ve had a good little home education routine going for quite some time now. While we may not homeschool, we do work schooling into our home. Between workbooks, computer programs, games, and an infinite amount of educational products, it is difficult to find the best of the best. Last year, I introduced you all to a great company whose products worked wonderfully for my own children.

The Teach My company was started by a mother who, much like myself, found it hard to find adequate teaching materials geared towards young children. She then pieced together her own mini “school” system and that is when the Teach My all-in-one kits were born. With three full kits covering all of the necessities available for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, working an educational program of sorts into your very own home is finally a reality for the masses.

After partnering with Toys R Us late last year and releasing the Baby, Toddler, and Preschooler all-in-one learning kits in stores nationwide, the news and love of Teach My spread like wildfire. And, from there, one mom’s mission has turned into a lifetime love of learning for countless children.
This year, they’ve introduced a great new collection of smaller learning sets that are now available in Toys R Us stores. In addition to the basic subject areas that are covered in the larger, all-in-one learning kits, these sets help children focus on four new areas of education – Animal Babies, Contents & Animals, The Solar System, and The Time.
Each of these sets can be added to the Teach My Baby, Toddler, or Preschooler to make your child’s learning experience that much greater.
The Teach My Baby – Animal Babies focuses on exactly that, young animals.

Using a coordinated board book, play mat, and 8 animal cut-outs, babies can learn all about animals and their young. The set encourages hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, communication skills, language development and parent-child interaction.

This set, for children ages 6 to 18-months, includes the board book, play mat, and coinciding eight animal cut-outs along with a teaching guide and storage bag.
The Teach My Toddler – Continents & Animals set, geared towards little ones 18-months and older, helps children to recognize numerous animals and which continent they are each native to.

Use a coordinated book, puzzle-within-a-puzzle, and matching flashcards to encourage fun, educational play. Just 20 minutes a day with Teach My Toddler Continents & Animals and your toddler can master 7 continents and 21 animals. The set encourages hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, matching, fine motor skills, and parent-child interaction.

This set includes a thirty piece floor puzzle and twenty-eight matching flashcards as well as a board book, storage bag, and teaching guide.
Now, the Teach My Preschooler – The Solar System is probably my favorite of the bunch. My own little ones love outer space and I love that this set helps enhance their knowledge of the subject while keeping it age appropriate.

Using a coordinated book, puzzle, poster, and flashcards, Teach My showcases the sun and nine planets that rotate around the sun (incl. Pluto, The Dwarf Planet). In order to simplify the solar system for little ones, we have highlighted one characteristic for each planet and each planet’s place within the solar system.

This set includes one book that includes Pluto (the Dwarf Planet), one poster, ten flashcards covering each planet as well as the sun, and a 20-piece puzzle along with a teaching guide and re-sealable storage bag.
The Teach My Preschooler – The Time is probably the most useful of the bunch, in regard to my own children that is. My own boys have gotten fond of wearing watches these days so this particular set has been extremely helpful in our mission to help them learn to better tell time.

Teach My Preschooler The Time introduces preschoolers to hours, minutes, analog time, digital time, and time vocabulary. Using a wipe-off teaching clock, book, and digital time maker, preschoolers can master telling the time quickly! The set encourages numeracy, counting, decoding, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and parent/child interaction.

This set includes an educational book, a teaching clock and digital time maker, and wipe-off crayons along with teaching guides and a storage bag for all materials.

It has been incredible to see my boys thrive and their knowledge grow with these wonderful sets from Teach My. Having previously utilized the full all-in-one learning kits within our home and our daily routine, the addition of these four smaller sets has only helped them to further their education from right here in our home. And that, well, that is what I love most about Teach My. As parents, we all want to give our children the best opportunity to learn and provide all of the items necessary to do so. However, the majority of us aren’t educators by profession and usually don’t know where to begin. With Teach My, the playing field is leveled. Not only can we give our children a spectacular array of educational supplies but we can give them something far more important – parent interaction.
This summer, I want to give you that same experience. And, with the help and generosity of the lovely folks over at Teach My, one of you will have the opportunity to win all four of these great sets!

It is important to have parent interaction in the learning process, to instil a love of learning in your child. Parents need to be there to ask questions and help their child learn the necessary skills. Parents can help make learning fun using these wonderful kits.

I think all parents need to be intentionally involved int heir kids learning process.Yes, a teacher lays out the basics, but we are there to reinforce it and nurture it.

It also teaches the parents to get involved with their childrens education. It also helps to form a deeper bond that Hopefully the parents and children keep throughout the childs school years and the rest of their lives.
Robert Brown
Teachers are there to show the rules of learning, parents are there to put it into action. It is valuable to have the one-on-one interaction to make sure that what is being taught is actually sticking.

I try to get engaged with the topics as well. If my little ones think I’m bored, they’re certainly bored too. When it comes to geography, I like to talk abotu exciting places they could see!:)
