Our daughter was not naturally drawn to books when she was younger, so in order to foster a desire for reading we had to find quirky, fun books to get her interested. As soon as I opened the cover of The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton, I knew that this book would have been a hit with our daughter when she was little. Sure enough, even though she is now 19, when I showed her the book she hugged it to her when she was done reading it and said “this is mine, I’m keeping it!”
