Send Positive Messages with The Talking Shirt – Review

June 21, 2015 by Angela 4 Comments

Disclosure review
About six months ago, I was looking for a t-shirt for my oldest daughter to wear to our local high school basketball games.  I was appalled at the selection of shirts available for children.  It seemed like all of the shirts made for boys had something about fighting, weapons, or being tough on them.  And the message I got from the shirts made for girls was that it is important for others to think you are pretty and to get people to do what you want.  I ended up buying just a plain t-shirt for my daughter, and I could tell that she was disappointed that there was not anything fun on it.

I was excited to hear about a company called The Talking Shirt that makes t-shirts for women, children, and infants that have positive messages on them.  The Talking Shirt motto is “Kindness is Always in Style.”  Its line of creative shirts includes t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, raglan tees, fitted tees, sweatshirts, and hoodies in three categories – inspirational, hipster, and Christian.  The messages on the shirts are meant to inspire others to think and act positively, instead of in a negative manner.  I certainly can agree with the importance of passing on those types of messages, especially to children!

I received two shirts  – a gray “Totes Adorbs” t-shirt from the hipster line for my youngest daughter, and a pink “She is Fierce” t-shirt from the inspirational line for my oldest daughter.  The shirts are super cute, super soft, and look super comfortable.  Both my girls were excited to wear their new shirts!

totes
The “Totes Adorbs” shirt is, well, totes adorbs.  I love the soft gray color and the shiny silver of the design.  My daughter was in awe of the shiny design and kept rubbing it because she loved the feel of it.  The shirt was perfect on a warm day, not too light but not too heavy.  I see this shirt being worn a lot in the future!

fierce
The “She is Fierce” shirt contains one of my favorite quotes by William Shakespeare – “Though she be but little, she is fierce.”  I often think of that quote when I look at my oldest daughter, so this shirt was perfect for her.  She loved it too when I explained to her what it said, and she loves calling herself fierce now.  This shirt has also become a favorite of hers.

I was impressed with the selection of shirts available from The Talking Shirt and would like to get more shirts for my daughters soon.  Check out off of the shirts offered by The Talking Shirt (priced between $26 and $36), and start spreading messages of positivity and inspiration!

Love the girl’s tshirt here with the Shakespeare quote, that’s awesome to have such positive things on children’s clothing, instead of just mindless sayings. love it! 🙂

These shirts are awesome! I love that companies are getting behind young girls and helping to build positive self-images and promote being strong and capable women. So cool!
