World Almanac and Book of Facts 2013
My 16-year old daughter is a trivia nut. She absorbs information like a sponge and can whip out facts about just about anything at any given time. It always amazes me, and it also makes me very proud. Needless to say, I am really excited about the World Almanac and Book of Facts 2013 this Christmas!
I received this book for review, and I am really enjoying it. Much like my daughter, I like to learn new things every day. Since I am not in school anymore, I turn to books and the internet to keep my brain “busy”.
The World Almanac 2013 contains so much information, including the 2012 Election Year in Review, Health & Vital Statistics, Science & Technology (I think this is the section that my daughter and I will both enjoy the most – the technology for me and the science for her!). There is also information (and facts) about U.S. History, which is always fun to read. There are sections on Sports, Culture, and Nations of the World. Since my daughter went to Germany for three weeks last summer as part of the Student Exchange Program, I know this section will be especially interesting to her.
Another area that will be really helpful is the Colleges and Universities. My daughter will be a senior in high school next year and is already looking at colleges, and trying to decide where she would like to go.
I found some interest medical information (yes, I am getting older and unfortunately have a few of the problems mentioned in the World Almanac!).
There are plenty of facts about celebrities too, and even a Farewell section, that lists the celebrities who passed away over the last year.
The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2013 is a wonderful idea for a holiday gift! Whether you are looking for something for an adult or a teen, this is the gift that will be used for years to come. With a price of only $12.99, you can pick up several! It is also available at Amazon.com for only $7.36! The World Almanac is available in eBook for all platforms starting today (December 11).
