To Glass or Not to Glass?

To glass…most definitely!

I have posted several times about how I want to redecorate our retirement home in a few years.  Obviously, this is something that I put a lot of thought into, as retirement isn’t too far away anymore.

My husband and I are getting closer to agreeing on where our dream home will be – I believe we will stay in California, and we will purchase a house on or near the coast.  We love walking on the beach and listening to the ocean.  In light of our “plan”, we need the right type of furniture to go with our nautical type house, right?

While searching the internet for different types of furniture, one thing we have decided we would like is a glass top dining table.  We want our kitchen and dining room area (and the whole house actually) to be light and “fresh” looking.  I think having a glass table, as well as glass accents will achieve that effect perfectly.  This brings me to my next idea:

I have visions of growing a beautiful flower garden, since gardening is one of my favorite things to do.  Not only do I want to be able to look at the beautiful colors, I want to be able to bring them indoors.  I plan on cutting fresh flowers daily and placing them in glass vases throughout the house.  To me, there is no better way to brighten up a house than decorating with colorful flowers 🙂  I also have a vision of a cute little table with an accent chair, and a glass vase with one single flower, tucked neatly in the corner of our living room.  Of course it will have to be in front of the window overlooking the ocean.  My dreams aren’t too big, are they?
