If there’s one thing I’ve learned about plushies over the past 20 years, it’s to find valuable Beanie Babies and hold on to them.
In 2000, I was working at a massive Nordstrom on Long Island, when one of the customers gave me a Ty2K Beanie Baby with rainbow confetti to say thank you for providing excellent customer service. It was a proud moment.
I unwrapped the soft plushy and thought this could be one of the valuable Beanie Babies in the future! I held onto it for YEARS.
While I didn’t quite hit the jackpot 20 years later, the one I had did have some errors and I was able to sell it on eBay. That was a nice chunk of change! I could kiss that woman who gave it to me because she gave me more than a $5 Beanie Baby. She gave me an investment.
