Vapour Organic Beauty Vernissage Nail Lacquer Review

I’ve made it no secret; I love pretty things. Polished nails being one of my favorites. In the past year or so though, I’ve purged many a polish that was questionable as far as whether or not it was “3-free”. So I am excited to learn of a brand that takes known carcinogens in beauty products as seriously as I do. I especially love seeing an Ingredient Glossary for any questions I might have about an ingredient or what is NOT in their products.

Vapour Organic Beauty Vernissage Nail Lacquer Review

Vapour Organic Beauty recently sent me a few Vernissage mini 3-free nail lacquers to try out. Vernissage Nail Lacquer contains no Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate {DBP}, or Formaldehyde. They are also paraben free, contain no nanoparticles, are cruelty free, and gluten free. I opened the package and took a good look at the bottles. I have to say, I picked some beautiful shades for myself. *wink* But I had to take them out and admire my Vernissage in the sunshine!

What is Vernissage?

Vernissage is a term artists have used since the days of the 19th Century Parisian Salons. The term refers to the night before an art opening, when artists would do frantic last minute touch ups to their canvasses. These Vernissages became raucous informal previews for selected patrons and friends of the artist.

I chose the Ether, Eternal, and Trance nail lacquers. Of course, my sister was happy to check out another new polish with me. After going over combinations and which shades complemented one another best, she decided that her nails would get polished with Ether.

Ether – a deep, radiant sapphire blue with a touch of shimmer

Gorgeous. I cannot wait to wear this shade! With my ghost-like fair skin tone, a dark blue like Ether offers a less stark contrast than black.

I decided to pair Eternal and Trance together. We did Eternal as the main color, with an accent nail using Trance, and a sponged Trance accent nail. We noticed that Eternal goes on fairly sheer, so two coats would be a minimum for full color coverage.

Trance – a warm charcoal-graphite polish with holographic finish Eternal – a chic lavender-grayish pink tint with a kiss of shimmer

I love how it turned out and I do believe Eternal will be my new go-to neutral. It doesn’t wash out my skin tone, still works as a nude, and the touch of shimmer is the unexpected cherry on top. Trance has a gorgeous base color and I love its holographic detailing. Especially with our lingering summer sun; the sparkle is enchanting! I can’t look away…

Best of all, my nails didn’t show any fading at the tips for four days! Normally polish {even shellac manicures} will chip the next day for me. I can’t decide if that is motherhood or just my luck, but to have the Vernissage nail lacquer only begin to show wear after four days is huge!

I’m thankful to have been introduced to Vapour Organic Beauty and their Vernissage Nail Lacquer collection. I’ve already found myself perusing the rest of their site. The Mesmerize eye liner is especially tempting… Shh, don’t tell The Mister.

  1. I really like the Ether-colored nail polish you reviewed. Very pretty. My favorite colors though are Scandal and Captive with the orange-colored Captive being my favorite for Halloween.. Plus, they are reasonably priced.

  2. My girlfriend would love this nail polish! The sparkly ones especially, she’s always wearing the sparkly ones 🙂

  3. I myself prefer the bluer Sapphire color for my toe nails. I like lighter colors on my nails. I love the fact that after four days your nails arent chipped – I hate polishing my nails and the next day seeing them chipped irritates me. thanks for the info

  4. I am going to have to get some of these since they are “safe.” My daughter and I love having girls nights where we do each other’s nails. I am always trying to find products that aren’t harmful.

  5. I really like the Vapour nail lacquer colors. I like the sapphire blue color and I would like to try this on my nails. I usually go for neutral colors on my fingernails and go bolder on my toe nails, but I would like to try something bold like this color. Gorgeous colors!

  6. Love this!! The blue looks amazing! I’m like you – I’m VERY “fair”…haha! Strawberry blonde hair and white skin, so I’m always looking for something to complement my complexion rather than have it stand out – haha!

  7. Color me envious. I really have a thing for nail polish. I change my nail color a couple of times per week and I find it to be a relaxing thing to do, along with my tween. It is a bonding activity and the black polish (although I’m supposed to a be a grown up) is calling my name! Reminds me of my crazy goth stage in high school.

  8. I have never heard of this company until now. It looks like they have some really awesome products id love to try the Stratus Soft Focus Instant Skin Perfector 🙂

  9. I have never heard of this brand before but it looks really pretty and it is reasonably priced. It’s a plus that is not filled with tons of harsh chemicals. Making painting your nails not so deadly for your nails.

  10. I didn’t know there was such thing as organic fingernail polish. I would love to get some of this so when I do my granddaughters nails it won’t be harmful to her.

  11. I liked your Vapour Organic Beauty Vernissage Nail Lacquer Review .
I have no use for nail polish but my sister loves using it.
I’ll have to tell her to check out this brand.

  12. Due to a medical condition my nails have to be kept free of polish very short because they split and hurt quite a bit. If I could I would use these marvelous polishes

  13. Love the nail polish and that it doesn’t contain any of the normal “rough” chemicals. would like to know if the smell is still there as there is in a normal polish?

  14. Oh I wish I had pretty nails like you two do! The colors are really very nice and could be worn with just about everything. The only thing I see (or don’t see) in the pictures is a lot of shine. Are they shiny? Not that it really matters as I usually put a top coat on. Nice to hear about this brand.

  15. I like the darker nail colors on my toe nails. Its good to hear about nail polish that has no bad chemical in them too. thanks to the info

  16. I don’t wear nail polish…gave it up years ago. It always drove me nuts whether it was not drying quick enough so that it would just slide off my nail after putting on 2-3 coats or chipping on so that I had to scrape the rest of the nail and then off all of the others. But it is nice to hear that a company is green conscious like this….we can only hope that some of the ‘big’ names out there will start following suit at least with a line or something.

  17. I love “free” polishes too. I refuse to use anything else on my little 2.5 year old and let me tell you she loves to have her nails painted! Piggy paint is great for her because they have so many fun colors. But what about Mommy who might not want something so “flashy”? I think Vernissage would be perfect!!!

  18. I am a HUGE nail polish girl (I have an entire blog dedicated to nail polish!) but Ihave never heard of this brand. Definitely going to check it out. Thakns for the post!

  19. Pretty! I’ll admit I don’t paint my fingernails partially b/c they chip and then I don’t want to deal with them! I do paint my toenails though….they are pretty much never “naked”;)

  20. I’ve been feeling guilty about the chemicals in the polish I use (cheap stuff), especially since I’m expecting, so I’ve gone bare for a while now. This looks like a good alternative.

  21. First time hearing about this brand. i like the bottle design and symbols. I like that is contains fewer of the toxic ingredients, though the gluten-free part made me giggle (don’t eat the nail polish? :D)
