Walmart Family Mobile – the lowest price rate plan I have found and my experience!

I have been using the Walmart Family Mobile plan for a little over a month now, and so far, I am very happy with it (you can read my original Walmart Family Mobile post here). I definitely think it is one of the best wireless plans around. In addition to the cost-saving benefits, its simplicity makes it easy for just about any family to have the best phones while enjoying a cheap wireless plan.

When you want to check your online account management and information. you can log into your account and find out about your usage, you can pay your bill, etc. It is nice to have everything right there at your fingertips. Of course you can also check your usage by calling right from your phone!

It has been really nice to save money each month, and if/when we get the whole family on this plan, we will be saving quite a bit over time.  Our current regular bill (not the Walmart Family Mobile) is $162 per month, and my husband has his account separately (something to do with his work, but he pays it), so that is another $102, which brings our current total for cell phones to about $265 per month.  I never really thought much about it before, but it honestly makes my head spin.  That is ridiculously expensive each month!  We did the math, and discovered that if our family switched to the Walmart Family Mobile plan (my husband and I with the $39.88 plan and both kids on the $29.88 plan), we will be saving approximately $125 per month.  That is HUGE!  Even if both kids were to get the $39.88 plan too, we would be saving about $105 each month, from our current rates.

What we do with our savings? Oh, let me count the ways! By switching to Walmart Family Mobile, we could save $1,260 – $1,500 per year, and that means either buying furniture that we have been eyeing for awhile, or taking a much needed family vacation (hopefully to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk – one of our favorite destinations!)

A really nice feature is the Limits and Controls page, where you can learn about how to keep your kids safe, enable disable their ability to use the prepaid extras pack, get text alerts, block adult web content, and much more. You can also choose to block certain numbers from calling your children (or yourself), and here is the best part: You can set restrictions so the phone cannot be used during certain hours – like during the school day and when they are supposed to be doing their homework. I think these are FANTASTIC features!

If your family pays too much for mobile phones and service, I definitely think you should check out Walmart Family Mobile.  When you total up the cost of your current plan (especially on a yearly basis), compared with the Walmart Family Mobile plan, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
